Summary
Patrick could cook. Patrick could milk goats, and fix fences, and ask for what he wanted. Patrick was everything that David had never learned to be, and without the resources that he used to have, he didn’t know what else he had to offer Patrick except for himself. It was selfish, really, wanting to call him. Wanting to insert himself into Patick’s tidy little life of farm chores and business degrees.
Continuing my canon-parallel small-town cottagecore AU retelling (for part one, check out into the wild blue). This fic picks up right at the beginning of Season 2, after the Roses bring David home, and skims over most events of S2 with some beats of S4, all slightly out of order.
