“Lu Guang, what was that? You don’t just bolt after someone helps you! It’s rude and kinda sketchy!” he tries to pull his hand back before Lu Guang’s hold tightens.
Sensing as the other is hardly paying Xiaoshi any heed, he roughly twists his hand back from Lu Guang’s iron grip. "Stop. What's going on?"
“Wecantstophere. It's not.. The right.. Time... Yet..."
Immediately when he barely finishes his sentence, Lu Guang sways shallowly before falling face-first onto the concrete road. The sight of Lu Guang’s limp body extinguishes all of Xiaoshi's irritations and frustration from prior like a lit candle abruptly blown out leaving only the trail of rising smoke of white-hot panic and worry.“Lu Guang?… Hey!"

“Sleeping on the job, Lu Guang?”
Cheng Xiaoshi sounded amused rather than annoyed, but Lu Guang didn’t respond. He stirred at Cheng Xiaoshi’s voice, aware that he should probably get up, but he couldn’t seem to find it in him.
“Lu Guang?” Cheng Xiaoshi sounded concerned now. He gently brushed Lu Guang’s hair aside to put his hand on his forehead.
“You’re burning up,” Cheng Xiaoshi said.
“No I’m not,” Lu Guang’s voice came out raspy. “It’s just hot in here.”
After getting back from the hospital, Lu Guang just can't get himself to stop working. There's way too much to do after being away. But there's only so far he can push himself before taking a break isn't exactly optional...

Day 4 — bath | festival | swimsuit
"You're hiding your perfect body from the world," Cheng Xiaoshi announces, earning a passing glance from a family nearby. "It's a crime. A tragic, tragic crime."
Lu Guang doesn't react, except for the corner of his lips twitching. "Let go."
"Not until you—" Cheng Xiaoshi pauses, looking at him with exaggerated puppy eyes. "Come on, just take it off. Please. I promise I won't look. No, actually I will look. I'll look respectfully. No, disrespectfully. Wait, no, that sounds wrong. Just—"
Lu Guang sighs, but there's a softness in it. "You're loud."
"And you're hot," Cheng Xiaoshi shoots back immediately, hands still clutching fabric. "In both ways. I'm dying here, Guang Guang, don't make me beg."
The name slips out, low and pleading. Lu Guang stares at him for a beat too long, the sun catching the outline of his lashes. Then, slowly, he pulls the shirt over his head. The air hits his skin, warm and alive, and Cheng Xiaoshi freezes mid-breath.

Bits of time broken like glass and spread out across an expanse reflected lifetimes back at him, and Lu Guang felt them leave millions of cuts across his skin. Were these all memories, or were some of them dreamt? How many were real? How many lives had he lived?
It had finally caught up to him now.
His time was up.
And there it was—“How could I ever leave you alone?”

Memories and moments of all the timelines Lu Guang has lived through. They pass him by as incredible, uncountable shards, pressing an enormous weight down onto him. Then he's presented with an unexpected decision, and then an even more unexpected scenario. One he's never lived before.
