Sensing as the other is hardly paying Xiaoshi any heed, he roughly twists his hand back from Lu Guang’s iron grip. "Stop. What's going on?"

Immediately when he barely finishes his sentence, Lu Guang sways shallowly before falling face-first onto the concrete road. “Sleeping on the job, Lu Guang?”
Cheng Xiaoshi sounded amused rather than annoyed, but Lu Guang didn’t respond. He stirred at Cheng Xiaoshi’s voice, aware that he should probably get up, but he couldn’t seem to find it in him.
“Lu Guang?” Cheng Xiaoshi sounded concerned now. He gently brushed Lu Guang’s hair aside to put his hand on his forehead.
“You’re burning up,” Cheng Xiaoshi said.
“No I’m not,” Lu Guang’s voice came out raspy. “It’s just hot in here.”
After getting back from the hospital, Lu Guang just can't get himself to stop working. There's way too much to do after being away. But there's only so far he can push himself before taking a break isn't exactly optional...

Day 4 — bath | festival | swimsuit
"You're hiding your perfect body from the world," Cheng Xiaoshi announces, earning a passing glance from a family nearby. "It's a crime. A tragic, tragic crime."
Lu Guang doesn't react, except for the corner of his lips twitching. "Let go."
"Not until you—" Cheng Xiaoshi pauses, looking at him with exaggerated puppy eyes. "Come on, just take it off. Please. I promise I won't look. No, actually I will look. I'll look respectfully. No, disrespectfully. Wait, no, that sounds wrong. Just—"
Lu Guang sighs, but there's a softness in it. "You're loud."
"And you're hot," Cheng Xiaoshi shoots back immediately, hands still clutching fabric. "In both ways. I'm dying here, Guang Guang, don't make me beg."
The name slips out, low and pleading. Lu Guang stares at him for a beat too long, the sun catching the outline of his lashes. Then, slowly, he pulls the shirt over his head. The air hits his skin, warm and alive, and Cheng Xiaoshi freezes mid-breath.

Lu Guang’s reflection wavers faintly on the glass—white hair mussed, collarbones peeking under the jacket, a faint trail of red along his throat where Cheng Xiaoshi’s mouth had lingered last night. The marks on his wrists and hips ache faintly with each small shift, evidence of fingers that had held too hard, too long.
The door suddenly clicks.
Lu Guang freezes.
A moment later, the door bursts open.
“Morning! I bring—” Qiao Ling’s voice cuts through the quiet. She stops mid-sentence, halfway in, eyes locking instantly with his.
The front door faces him directly.
Lu Guang doesn’t move. For one second, he stands there under the soft light, pale skin visible between the hem of the jacket and his thighs, hair falling into his eyes. His hand still holds the half-empty glass. His mind blanks out so completely that even his breath forgets to come.

“I’m so sorry,” she whispers, the first sound besides the ticking of the clock in a long while.

Summary
Lu Guang has always been hard to read, but as his closest friend, Cheng Xiaoshi likes to think he knows him better than anyone.
Lately, though, something's changed. The eyebags under Lu Guang's eyes are darker than ever. He barely sleeps. His shoulders are always tense. And he won't stop checking that damn watch.But as his closest friend Cheng Xiaoshi also knows that he has to pry with all his might to get Lu Guang to damn talk.
Because something is wrong with Lu Guang. And it worries Cheng Xiaoshi. But dammit why won't Lu Guang just tell him?
Aka Cheng Xiaoshi trying his best to figure out what's wrong with Lu Guang because he knows his best friend. And this was not usual Lu Guang behavior.
Spoilers below for the real story!!!
Or Lu Guang only has this timeline left to try and save Cheng Xiaoshi. It just makes him very tired that's all. Especially when he knows that if he fails this time again that he won't ever see Cheng Xiaoshi again. After all Lu Guang was planning to make sure they never will meet so that Cheng Xiaoshi will never know that he even has powers in the first place.
Even if that will kill Lu Guang in the inside.

Cheng Xiaoshi’s life is fine.
Sure, he has no friends and his parents are missing, but he has a sister-like figure and the old granny who cares about him.
Still, for a while, he feels like he is missing something inside of him. Sometimes he even thinks it could be a someone.
So what does he do when he meets a new guy who looks like he never slept a day in his life and feels oddly familiar?
Annoy the shit out of him while at the same time being the friendliest guy ever to force the guy to be friends with him, like a normal person of course.
Aka Cheng Xiaoshi just really feels like there is something very familiar about the new guy.
Or Lu Guang really just wanted to make sure Cheng Xiaoshi was alive after September 13.
Not get intertwined with Cheng Xiaoshi again.It seems like that is his fate in every timeline.

They've had this conversation before, in past iterations and other places, and it would go differently every time. Lu Guang supposes he just hoped to avoid it for as long as possible, now that the crises he was aware of were averted, Times Photo Studio was open for work and their life was (mostly) back to normal, but in retrospect maybe it’s something he should’ve addressed sooner.
He doesn’t want to. He’s so very tired.
“Because,” he says in a monotone, even voice, “You died and I restarted the timeline to fix that. And then I failed and had to start over again. And again. I’m not sure how many times it was.”

"I swear, we have to start adding a cap to the amount of photos clients can send in," Cheng Xiaoshi commented in disbelief as he flipped through a small pile of them.
"I mean, you guys picked this commission, so it's technically on you," Qiao Ling pointed out with a laugh.
Cheng Xiaoshi groaned, returning to the takeout Qiao Ling had brought.
Lu Guang hadn't touched his food yet, his brows furrowed, showing subtle frustration and disbelief at the sheer amount of photos.
"This is ridiculous..." Lu Guang muttered, picking up a photo and examining it.
Lu Guang overworks himself for a commission because he refuses to be late on a deadline

There was a lot Lu Guang was willing to do when it came to Cheng Xiaoshi. Even if it meant sacrificing himself and returning back to where he came from. He accepts the inevitable future that will come to pass and that he will disappear from their lives like thin air - much like the way he arrived.
Cheng Xiaoshi isn't going to let him go that easily.
