Summary
Eddie isn’t thinking about anything in particular while he works his way through the ambulance inventory - the part of the job Buck would begrudgingly call boring - until the man in question turns up and immediately challenges both the whole endeavour and Eddie’s clipboard.
What first looks like Buck simply wanting company takes a very different turn when a phone call threatens the family they have slowly built around Theo. Keeping his best friend from breaking apart may require Eddie to go considerably further than either of them expected, leaving them with an entirely new problem to figure out once the dust settles.
Nobody knows where any of this is going yet.
Eddie is, however, eventually willing to surrender the clipboard to Buck against his better judgement.

Theo was genuinely his father’s son and suddenly it all made sense. Harry swallows a lump in his throat and continues. ‘’What?’’
Theo leaves the Jaffa cake on the coffee table and takes the wet wipe to wipe the excess chocolate off his hands, sighing. ‘’Everybody I love leaves. I don’t want that to happen to Eddie. And Buck,’’ he adds quietly.
‘’Buddy, who has told you… You’re … Nobody is leaving because of you,’’ Harry is suddenly unable to find the right words.
‘’Mommy and daddy did. I loved them so much and they left,’’ Theo says defeated, his eyes pooling with tears.
