"Tucker, give that back!" Sam was reaching for the box. Currently in the hands of Tucker who held it above his head.
Tucker laughed. "Come on, tell me what it is!"
Today was Danny's 17th birthday. The two of them were heading to their boyfriend's house. Walking on the sidewalk. Apparently Tucker couldn't walk without getting bored. So he decided to terrorize his girlfriend for a bit. "I'm so curious. You've really been hyping it up!"
Sam blushed. "Ugh. Fine. I know it's better than what you got him."
"Dan's gonna love my ghost socks." He argued. "This time they go all the way up to the knee. You're telling me you don't want to see him in knee high socks?" He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. Giving Sam no choice but to punch him in the stomach. Face red. He dropped the present. "Ow!"
"Dumb ass…." She growled. But she wasn't really mad. "Can I please keep it a surprise?" Sam said after hesitating for a moment. "I don't want you to slip out what it is…. And it's kinda a gift for all three of us….."
Tucker smiled. Genuine and without any hidden scheme or agenda. "All right. Can't wait to see what it is."
"Babe!" Danny hugged Sam. "Babe." He hugged tucker. "You guys are right on time." Truthfully they were 5 minutes late. "We were about to have cake."
The house was occupied only by the fentons. His family surrounded the table. The (vegan) cake had 17 light candles. And now that the lovers had entered the party could truly start.
"Happy birthday Dear danny!!!! Happy birthday to you!" They all sang. Danny blows out the candles by the end. Sam kissed his temple.
"Happy birthday."
The group all enjoyed some time hanging out with each other. Tucker kissed some cake off of Danny's lips playfully. Causing the ghost boy to flush and his family to laugh. Sam watched them all with a happy smile. It was a strange dynamic. A lot of people would never truly understand the love they have for each other but…. That's okay. They understood it. And that's what mattered.
"These socks are… tall." Danny said, looking at his fourth pair of ghost socks now. This has been Tucker's choice of gift every year now.
"I expect pictures later." Tucker said. Resting on Danny's shoulders. The comment made Danny laugh as he put the socks to the side.
"Hahaha… alright. Okay now we have… sams!" Tucker stood up straighter. Dying to know what was in the gift…
Sam swallowed as Danny tore into it. Taking out a box. When he opened the black leather box his jaw dropped. "Oh… wow Sam."
Inside his hands was a heart locket with Sam and tucker in it. "I know it's kinda dumb and narcissistic to give you a gift of my face but-"
"No, I love it!" Danny argued. Placing a kiss on the locket. "It's beautiful!"
"You really got my good side." Tucker smiled as he looked over Danny's shoulder.
"Um. I…" Sam grabbed two more boxes out of her backpack. Handing one to tucker. "That one is for you…. And this one for me."
In tuckers was a picture of Sam and danny.
In sams tucker and Danny.
"And um-" She grabbed the necklace from Danny. Their fingers touched for a moment. Faces heated up- but the touch was gone after a brief second. She repeated this with tuckers necklace. "They combine."
The necklaces had magnets in them. And when all three combined an outline of a heart appeared. "Um. I really love you both. So I thought… this could be a physical reminder."
Danny smiled. Reaching over and hugging Sam tightly. Then kissing her on the lips. It was a quick peck. But when he pulled away his eyes were so full of love. "This is amazing. The best. I love it so much. And I love you, and tuckers Alright." Danny teased. Wrapping an arm around aforementioned boyfriend. Who was uncharacteristically silent.
"Sam i… it's beautiful." Tucker said happily. "Although I still think my ghost socks take the cake."
Sam laughed. Kissing tucker on the cheek. "Danny will look pretty cute in them."
The ghost blushed. "All right all right that's enough about my legs please!" The group laughed at his expense, as the party continued with a fun atmosphere.
That night. Danny laid in his bed. Holding the heart locket open. Staring at his Two best friends. His life partners. He kissed the picture of Sam, then tucker.
"What would I do without you guys…" He said softly. Wishing in his heart that the next birthday party would be the same. Then the next.
He hoped they would always be by his side.
