Summary
Senku often prided himself on the vast knowledge he’d spent the better part of 24 years on the planet collecting, learning, and mastering. The edification he’d curated for himself knew few bounds; topics never solely devoted to a single subject of interest.
Even still, he’d never been boisterous in said pride—like most assumed he would be upon first meeting him—but more so prideful in the standards he held himself to when assessing a problem, calculating potential solutions, then selecting the most efficient route to pursue based on the expansive knowledge he housed within his own mind.
The one instance he’d ever failed so blunderously in this regard, though, was the day he’d lied to his friends and family about having romantic relations with a completely fictional paramour.
OR
Senku lied about having a boyfriend for a year so his friends and family would let him focus on his and Chrome’s rocket. But when the lie spiraled out of control, collapsing in on itself like a core of subcritical fissionable material being compressed by external variables into a super-dense state, Senku was forced to face the lie he’d woven by attending couples therapy with a stranger.

side note,, absolutely LOVE the side plot of Senku feeling so pressured about romance because all of his well-meaning friends and family pestered him about it too hard. Not having a romance in your life doesn't mean you're unfulfilled or your happiness is worth less :))Also also: their first meeting is so absurd from Gen's pov. Approached by someone right after therapy, joy! Probably a fan... except he has no idea who Gen is and is actually about to ask him to be his fake boyfriend for couples counseling SKEKKDKE
