Chapter Text
35 weeks and 6 days pregnant
Lestat de Lioncourt had never imagined that he would live a peaceful life. He had never ever imagined that he would live a happy life.
Not with the way he had been raised, abused, trapped and alone in that crumbling old castle in Auvergne. With brothers who thought his only worth came from what he could provided future nieces and nephews. A blind father who treated him with such coldness and refused to let him pursue good things.
And a mother. A mother who would rather read her books than look his way. A mother who he had to beg for a single scrap of attention from. A mother that kept him uneducated and illiterate till the age of 34. A mother who saw him not as her son, but as an extension of herself. A mother that gave him his freedom by selling her last jewels so he could go to Paris.
A mother who, despite everything, he loved.
So the peace, the happiness, the love he felt in his life at the current moment was something that felt unnatural for him to have. It was something out of the fantasy’s Lestat would have as a young boy, ones that slowly stopped coming once he realised he stood no chance of escaping the rotten home he lived in.
He had two beautiful children, both of which were currently sleeping soundly in their rooms. His beautiful Claudia, who he still could not come to regret, had grown into an artful predator.
An artful predator far too alike himself in personality, causing clashes and fights between the two. Thankfully since her return, after the two opened up to each other, their fights had lessened. They still squabbled of course, that was something likely to never change. Claudia was the best of his vampiric self, the evil of his evil, his beautiful baby girl.
Then there was Rose, the miracle he had never even known he was carrying inside of him until her dramatic appearance into the world. She was perfect, utterly perfect. A creation made through his and Louis’ love. She was growing far too fast for their liking, she was walking and talking in full sentences now when just a few months ago she was saying her first word. It was scary watching her grow up, it was something they never had to worry about with Claudia after cursing her to the life of a puberty stricken teenager.
And of course there was the child inside of him. Yet to be born. Their little Viktor who they would be meeting soon. Lestat couldn’t wait to hold him.
He had his husband. His Louis. The most gorgeous, incredible, loving man that Lestat had ever known. The love of his life. The father of his children. His man, whose chest held the heart that beat in perfect sync with his own.
He could feel it now, beating against his back from his position on Louis’ lap.
Louis was inside of him and it was the purest ecstasy Lestat had ever experienced. Every time they had sex, whether it be Louis inside Lestat or Lestat inside of Louis, it felt like the strongest drug in the world had been injected directly into Lestat’s veins.
Over the many years Lestat had been alive he had participated in a lot of sex, but none of it had ever felt the way it did with Louis. He knew why. Louis was the love of his life, meaningless sex with meaningless people could never compare to the love making between him and his husband.
Louis’ was all over him, one of his arms was wrapped securely around his swollen chest resting gently against the ever growing bump his hand gripping his shoulder. His other hand was holding his hip and helping him bounce on Louis’ hard cock. He could feel the cold metal of the ring that sat on Louis ring finger, a matching one on Lestat’s own.
While they legally could not get married they could show their commitment to the other in this way, two simple golden bands that sat on their ring fingers to let the world know they belonged to another. Lestat wistfully hoped that in some distant future they could marry and would not have to hide their love from the world.
He wanted to take Louis’ last name and add it to his own, he wanted them both to match with their children. Be a real family that all shared the same name.
But now wasn’t the time to be thinking about that. Not when his husband’s cock was thrusting inside of him, hitting that little bundle of nerves.
The pleasure was immeasurable.
With every bounce Louis helped him take, his cock would drag obscenely out of him, almost all the way, before Lestat would slam back down onto it taking it all back in. It felt really fucking good.
Sex was something Lestat had become increasingly more worried about as the pregnancy progressed. They had spent almost 5 years with a practically barren bedroom life, sex had become an anomaly for them. Lestat could count on one hand the amount of times they had sex during those 5 years.
During those sad, dark years Lestat couldn’t comprehend why Louis didn’t want him. Why all his efforts of seduction and decelerations of love went unnoticed. He still couldn’t understand why, even now.
There was one thing Lestat had never not been and that was desired. Everywhere he went there was always someone that wanted him, even in his own home growing up.
It had kind of defined his self worth.
People wanted him for his body, his beauty. It was why he was made into this dark creature of the night after all. So his husband not wanting him had cut deeper than any wound.
It made him sad. It made him angry. It made him feel alone and unloved by the one person who he could not live without.
They had gotten better after Rose’s birth. Louis had said those words Lestat had craved to hear from him for 20 years. They communicated with each other instead of letting things fester. And they started having regular sex again.
Lestat knew Louis was not with him for his body or his beauty, that Louis was with him because he loved him. But the insecurity was there and the more swollen with child he became, the more it reared its ugly head.
Lestat felt like a whale. His body had never had more than an ounce of fat on it, being a half starved child in 18th century France and several years hunting for his family gave him the muscle and shape he died with, so the large protruding bump was certainly a shock to his system.
The pregnancy had changed his body in many ways. His hips had widened, his thighs had thickened, his chest had begun swelling around the same time the bump started growing, his once defined and sculpted abs had disappeared and been replaced with the ever growing bump.
When he looked in the mirror, he felt undesirable. All he could see was stretching skin and scarred flesh, none of the body he was once desired for was there anymore and it was terrifying. He feared Louis would find him unseemly and they would go back to that dark place after Claudia left.
But it seemed his fears were unfounded. Louis still wanted him, though the fear remained. Even now as Louis made him feel the most indescribable pleasure, he feared.
Louis was not looking at him, and he knew why, knew it was for his comfort so his stomach wasn’t being squashed between the two of them. But it still made him feel wrong that his husband would rather look at the more pleasing backside of him.
Lestat had gotten so caught up in his insecurity’s he hadn’t realised Louis had stopped moving inside of him. The hand holding his hip came to encircle his waist and his chin was planted against Lestat’s shoulder.
“What’s wrong, baby? You’ve gone quiet.” He murmured softly into Lestat’s ear, lips brushing against the shell in a featherlight kiss.
Lestat wasn’t proud of it, but it wasn’t the first time he had dissociated during sex and he was doubtful it would be the last. It had certainly started happening a lot more during these later months of pregnancy, when even the pleasure couldn’t drown that voice in the back of his head.
He needed to look at Louis, he needed to see the love in his husband’s eyes to know that voice was lying.
“I-i need to see you.” Louis, who had been slowly trailing kisses up and down Lestat’s neck, doesn’t question his husbands sudden need to change position and gently helps Lestat stand from his lap.
Lestat gestures for Louis to move further back onto the bed, which he does, scooting to lay in the middle of their bed now. Lestat crawls over to him, straddling Louis once more.
He grips the shaft of Louis’ cock and brings it to his slick hole, rubbing the head against his opening before sinking down and taking the full length of his husbands cock.
They both sigh in pleasure. Louis’ hands immediately return to Lestat’s body, running up and down his sides, gripping his hips, placing one of his hands on the scar over his heart and leaving it there to feel it beating beneath his palm.
“You’re so beautiful.” A gentle kiss was laid against the underside of Lestat’s bump, the only piece of skin Louis could reach without disturbing the position they were in.
The hand that wasn’t over his heart made its way back to his hip, he could feel the coldness of his ring once again.
Louis subtly tried to encourage Lestat to begin moving again, by grabbing his hip tighter than he already had been and thrusting his hips. Causing his cock to hit that bundle of nerves inside of Lestat’s body again and a salacious moan to leave his mouth.
“Fuck…” Lestat practically whimpered. His hips started moving of their own volition, finding a rhythm as he adjusted their position so Louis’ cock was hitting his prostate every single time.
Moans and whines slipped freely from both of them, pleasure the only sensation either could really focus on.
As he kept on riding his husband, he could feel that familiar tightening sensation, the one that let him know he was close and from the look in Louis’ eyes he wasn’t far behind.
“Cher- Lou- I-“ Lestat couldn’t begin to articulate how he was feeling, his body was on fire, pleasure coiling in his gut. Louis’ hand had moved from his hip to begin stroking his cock.
The pleasure that had been slowly building in his gut, spilled over with a few more thrusts and practiced strokes from Louis. Lestat’s orgasm washed over him as thick ropes of cum shot out of his cock onto Louis’ stomach and chest.
Louis was still moaning underneath him, close to orgasm himself. A few thrusts later and he was following Lestat over the edge, filling him with his own release.
They stayed connected through the aftermath as they both rode out their orgasms. As their breathing slowed down and their heart rates become normal again, Lestat slipped Louis out of him and lay down besides him on the bed.
A dopy smile spread across Louis’ face, one that Lestat couldn’t resist returning. “Hi.”
“Hi.” Louis said back, leaning in to give Lestat a peck on the lips. Lestat pulled Louis back in as he made to pull away to continue kissing his husband. His hand began traveling down Louis chest until he found his spend, still wet and sticky against Louis’ skin.
He racked his fingers through it, bringing it up higher to rub it into the wiry hair on Louis’ chest. Louis made a disgusted face and sighed. “Baby. That’s disgusting.”
“I’d lick it off you, but I think you’ve worn me out.” Ever since about the 6th month of Lestat’s pregnancy sex had been reduced to only one round instead of the usual multiple they would go for, the pregnancy had just made Lestat too exhausted.
Louis chuckled at him, placing his hand against the precious swell which held their child. “He makin’ you that tired, huh?”
“Oh Louis, you have no idea. I have never been this exhausted in my life, not even when I was human.” It probably didn’t help that Lestat had been having persistent nightmares that kept him awake a majority of the day, but Louis didn’t need to know that.
“You sure you wanna do it again? After he’s born. If he is a he.” Lestat rolled his eyes, not at Louis’ question but at his complete and utter refusal to believe that Lestat knew the gender of their child. He knew Viktor was a boy, call it maternal instincts or whatever.
“Mon Cher, why do refuse to believe I know our child’s gender?” Lestat asked in voice far too close to being condescending.
It was Louis’ turn to roll his eyes now. “It’s not that I don’t believe you, love. It’s just that I think we should be prepared for all options. At least consider a girls name?”
Lestat sighed, placing his hand over where Louis’ lay against his bump. “No matter the gender of our child Louis, their name will be Viktor. We have been calling them that for months and I am attached to the name.”
Louis sighed, knowing this was an argument he would not win and their baby’s name truly was to be Viktor.
Viktor kicked inside of Lestat, as if in agreement. Lestat smiled down at where his child was, just beneath his skin waiting to finish baking as Louis liked to say.
“We should probably get cleaned up. Neither of us will be happy if we wake up covered in dried cum.” Louis told Lestat, moving to sit up and get off the bed.
“Mmm, I wouldn’t mind too much.” Lestat replied tiredly, making no effort himself to move. Smirking at Louis’ naked form as he made his way around the bed to pull Lestat up.
“That’s cause you’re a freak.” Louis told him as he pulled him up and kissed his lips.
//
Lestat stood in front of the mirror, he had cleaned himself up and was now in a pair of comfortable pyjama pants and a tank top that didn’t fully cover the bump. The beautiful golden locket Louis had bought him for his birthday hung around his neck, it had never been removed since Louis put it on him almost a year ago. Louis was to take it and get it engraved with a V once Viktor was born.
Louis was still in the bathroom cleaning himself up, turns out dried bloody cum is quite difficult to get out of chest hair.
Normally after sex the two would just clean up and sleep naked, but with Rose walking now they had decided sleeping with clothes on was the best option in case Rose came into their room during the night. It hadn’t happened yet, but it could and that was all that mattered.
Lestat couldn’t stop staring at his stomach. It was so strange. He had had months of watching it grow but it was still shocking every time he caught a full glimpse of himself in the mirror.
It was magical and terrifying at the same time.
He was so in love with the child inside of him and had enjoyed every moment of seeing his body change to keep the precious being inside of him safe. But it also terrified him.
Since finding out about the pregnancy Lestat had felt at least some modicum of anxiety every day. Between the past miscarriage he hadn’t even known about until after Rose was born, and everything to do with Rose’s unexpected birth. He had felt terribly anxious, still did and would continue too probably until well after Viktor was born.
Arms wrapped around Lestat from behind, hands tugged the bottom of his tank top up so Louis could lay both his palms against the stretched skin. Louis was obsessed with the bump and took every opportunity he could to touch it. Lestat lay back in his arms, kissing his check and placing his own hands over Louis’.
“I’m sure.” Lestat whispered in Louis’ ear.
“Sure about what, baby?” Louis whispered back.
“About having more.” Viktor kicked inside of him, so strong Lestat could feel it both in his stomach and through Louis’ hands. “I’d give you a hundred. I’d give you a thousand.”
Louis let out a soft breath and hooked his chin onto Lestat’s shoulder to look him in the eyes in the mirror. “You would?”
“In a heartbeat.” Carrying a piece of Louis inside of him, giving him the family he had always wanted (that Lestat had also always wanted) was the biggest privilege Lestat had ever had.
Louis smiled at him and kissed his neck. “Let’s go to bed, honey.”
Ah yes, the bed. Once only used for sex and relaxing during the night, was now being used for its intended purpose, sleeping.
Lestat hated it. It made him feel vulnerable. He had fought against sleeping in the bed for as long as he could, but even their larger coffin couldn’t comfortably fit the both of them once Lestat entered his third trimester and he refused to sleep without Louis next to him.
So the bed it was. Despite the horrible memories Lestat could not fight off when he slept in it. Despite the fear a hand would wrap around his throat and drag him away from everything he loved. He slept in the bed.
Louis checked the shutters were closed properly and turned out the lights as Lestat climbed into the bed and tried to settle. Louis climbed in right next to him and spooned Lestat.
“I love you.” He breathed into the back of Lestat’s neck.
“I love you, too.” Lestat grabbed Louis’ hand and closed his eyes. Hoping that for at least one night, he could sleep peacefully and uninterrupted.

36 weeks and 2 days pregnant
“Pleaseeeeeeeeee!”
“No.”
“Come on, please!”
“No, Claudia.” This conversation was becoming a constant bother, one that Lestat really did not want to rehash for the 15th time this week.
“It’ll be fun.” Lestat sighed, rubbing his hand down his face. He was far too tired and far too pregnant for this.
Lestat turned to his husband who was sat on the floor with Rose, playing some game with her porcelain dolls that only she understood the rules of. She was yelling at Louis every few minutes for playing it wrong.
“Louis, could you please tell our daughter that we are not going out with her on Halloween.” Claudia let out a loud sigh across from him, exasperated.
Halloween was in a week and for the past month and a half Claudia had spent at least an hour everyday begging them to join herself and Rose on Halloween night. Lestat and Louis had refused every time.
But Claudia was not easily deterred.
“Claudia, we ain’t going out with you two on Halloween and that’s final.” Louis told her from his place on the floor, another porcelain doll begin unceremoniously shoved into his hands.
Claudia rolled her eyes, flopping back onto the sofa and disturbing Mojo who, until that moment, had been sleeping peacefully next to her. Despite the fact that he wasn’t actually allowed on the furniture, as Louis threw a fit every time, Claudia and Lestat were far too lenient with him and allowed him to sit besides them (or on them). Louis hated it but had no chance of changing it now.
“Why yall bein’ so boring? It’s practically Rose’s first Halloween. Why don’t ya wanna come?” Round and round the argument goes when will it end, hopefully soon because it was almost time for Rose to go to bed.
“The whole holiday is a farce to begin with. It’s just an excuse for mortals to pretend to be like us for a night.” Lestat did not care much for the holiday, when he was a child it was all about warding evil away with bonfires, now it was an excuse for parents to give their children unregulated amounts of sugar. “We’ve never celebrated before anyway, why are you so adamant?”
Claudia sat up slightly and Mojo cuddled back down beside her, she seemed to be contemplating what to say. “I just…I missed a lot. And I…wanna make memories. Do some firsts, with both Rose and you two.”
Tears rose in Lestat’s eyes, his sweet baby girl wanted to make memories with him. He wiped his eyes before they could fall. “That’s very sweet, Claudia. But I really don’t think it’s a good idea, ma petite.”
Claudia rolled her eyes so hard he feared they would fall from her head. “Since when have you of all people ever turned down an excuse to go to a party!”
“Since-“
“No, daddy! Wrong! You’re playing wrong!” Rose yelled at poor Louis, even stamping her foot for emphasis. Louis was still just sat holding several porcelain dolls with a confused look on his face. He looked to Lestat for help, Lestat just shrugged his shoulders and told Rose not to yell at daddy.
“Since?” Claudia prompted wanting to continue the conversation.
“Ah. Yes. Since I could go into labour any day.” His hand unconsciously drifted down to the bump his baby was nestled safely inside of, asleep for once.
“Oh come on, he’s not supposed to be born for like 4 weeks!” Oh dear sweet Claudia, if only you realised how little babies stuck to a timeline.
“Your sister came 5 weeks early.” At Claudia’s confused look Lestat elaborated. “We did the math.” Claudia scoffed in disgust, whispering under breath. Why she was so shocked her parents that had been married for 20 years and had 2 children with one on the way had sex was beyond him?
A very tired Rose, clearly sick of her father playing her game wrong, wandered away from Louis over to Lestat. “Papa, up!”
He reached down to pull Rose up to sit on his lap, she cuddled into his chest as much as she could with her brother in the way. She was an angel really, despite the temper and attitude she had inherited from Lestat.
And she was the most beautiful baby in the world, no Lestat was not biased. She had honey skin, sea glass eyes, blonde hair a few shades darker than Lestat’s that was currently in two braids, and she had Louis’ face bar his nose and chin. She was the double of Louis and Lestat loved it.
He hoped Viktor looked like Louis as well.
Speaking of Louis he had made his way off the floor, after collecting Rose’s dolls she had scattered around the room into a pile, and had come to sit next to Lestat arm wrapped around his shoulders.
Claudia’s attention turned to her sleepy sister. “Rose, tell daddy and papa you want them to come out with us on Halloween.” Rose was half asleep the only thing from what Claudia said that she seemed to catch was Halloween. Which definitely woke her up.
“Halloween!” She sat up on Lestat lap, squealing in excitement and clapping her hands. Rose had become incredibly excited about Halloween ever since Claudia started bringing it up. They didn’t think that she really understood what it was, she had just been told it was fun and that was enough to make her excited.
“Rose wants you to come!” Lestat was beginning to loose this argument, the fight was fading from him. Both his girls wanted him and Louis to go with them. Turning to look at Louis he could see he was also starting to crack.
“What would I even wear, Claudia? Nothing fits me. I look like I’m hiding a watermelon under my shirt.” Lestat asked, trying not to get her hopes up. Rose, realising that her favourite holiday was no longer being discussed, resumed her previous position of cuddling Lestat.
“Oh come on, we can think of something! Please!” Lestat was going to say no, he really was. He was going to put his foot down and say no. “We can do a big family costume, all four of us! Somehow hide your belly.” Then Claudia had to go and say that.
And who was Lestat, a lover of parties and dressing up, to refuse that kind of offer. Especially considering the fact that a few years ago that offer would never have slipped past Claudia’s lips.
“Alright, mon chéri. We shall join you and your sister.” Louis made a noise of protest, he was no fan of the holiday either and had become beyond over protective of Lestat during the pregnancy, but a single, pleading look from Lestat stopped the protest in its tracks.
“So, what are we dressing up as?” Louis was the one to ask.
A smirk crossed Claudia’s face. One that could only mean mischief and mayhem.
“Vampires.”
