Will you bear the weight of this burden for your kin? It is clear to me that they need you just as much as we need them.”
“It’s not a burden. Not if it’s you. Not if it’s this team.” Burden felt too strong of a word. Too brutal for what was actually going to be taking place. Optimus was a pillar of strength and comfort and heart, the glue that kept these wandering souls together. To call befriending him as something so vile felt intrinsically wrong and you weren’t going to stand for it.
If you were going to do this, you were going to do it right. No half-assing anything, fear and terror be damned. No matter what it was, you were willing to find a way to help end this conflict.

Summary
Sunstreaker is called to investigate a peculiar mission regarding an Autobot escape pod having fallen from the Earth's upper atmosphere and landing in an obscure valley of a nearby National Park. He heads to the coordinates as quickly as he can in hopes of getting there before a fire can break out over the dry land. However, on his way, he soon discovers that the Decepticons have also learned of the pod's location and desire to know what's hidden inside. As the flames rise higher, Sunstreaker realises a harrowing ordeal regarding his relationship with the Decepticons, in particular, his friend, Bitstream, who'll have to choose between him and his loyalty to Megatron.

Blue optics flashed, her smaller frame slinking towards where he sat in her casual walk. Elita's servo gripped his arm, before leaning her helm onto his shoulder in support. Her touch practically burning his platting with warmth.
"Since when were you the worrier between us?" she smirked.
"Someone has to be," he mumbled.
Gentle yet rough servos cradled his faceplate, "You have an army and they are as every bit committed to you as you are to them. You can trust them to share the burden. Trust them to protect our gift."
Her derma on his was soft, warm, and electric....
...But Optimus woke up in his quarters. Cold besides for the heat of his working forge, it's steady pulses counting down until the arrival of his newspark.

Summary
Set within-yet-adjacent-to "Behind the Lines", this trilogy sprang up as both a gift and a "response" to ShootingStarscream's excellent piece, "Prime Logistics". This *can* technically be read on its own, but it is advised to at least have foundational understanding of who the F some of these characters are.
Cade Yeager (of Transformers: Age of Extinction / The Last Knight) makes a brief cameo.
Thus, we now begin "To Have a Spark: Behind the Lines". Things get a little more real, but as with its predecessor, no life-or-death adventures. Here, teenagers fuck up, Bots learn what it's like on the other side of being protected and maybe a certain Prime might get a break for once in his life.
Antics of all sorts ensue. Including the occasional bar fight (without booze because they're minors!)
Like its predecessor, the entire "Behind the Lines" and "War and Cheese" trilogy take place at various points along Books II and III.

However, when Cybertron becomes rocked by a vision of Primus himself, Hot Rod is going to be forced to face all his doubts and insecurities in the most intense way possible: when he is made a Prime.
As Hot Rod... sorry, RODIMUS PRIME, tries adjusting to his new role, so too does... Optimus, the current Prime. And all of Cybertron asks the question: how can there be TWO Primes?!
I've written a fanfic before, but in this one I'm not going to try particularly hard. I mostly have an idea I want to game out, so I'm not going to be too focused on the wording of thngs.

Elita-1 and her team are the last Autobots on Cybertron. They've been barely surviving for four million years between scarce resources, storms of acid rain, the constant threat of Shockwave and his drones, and the sudden resurgence of cosmic rust. Their only solace is that the war is over and that all the Decepticons, save Shockwave, are dead.
