Paul was always going to be the person who ignored his problems by diving into work. Paul would never understand why John couldn’t just sit down at the piano and write a song like he could. Elton John offered a chance to attend a special preview event in California for his upcoming album with Brandi Carlile before its official release.
There was no promise or even talk about either one of the stars being present and the buzz was that it would just be a prerecorded concert showing on a movie screen. Was it worth even trying to score tickets, Lauren didn't think so, but because she was going to be in Long Beach on the 4th, she decided to give it a try. If she won, she'd start her vacation early, if not, life would move on as scheduled.
With a couple of lucky breaks, Lauren found herself in the front row, sitting at the edge of the stage and in spitting distance from a beautiful piano. The theatre filled up, the lights went out, the lights came on, and there was Elton.
