In the weeks after Link and Zelda conquered the Demon King, they believed there would only be peace left for them. The monster armies had retreated, save for those still bold enough or out of the way, the Yiga Clan had gone silent, and restoration had been moving along smoothly. It seemed that, after surviving two Calamities, they and the rest of Hyrule could finally move forward.
Yet the blood moon rose once again, alongside the monsters it always brought. And with them, a letter from Riju, urging the princess and her knight to return to Gerudo Town. A familiar Gerudo man had allowed himself to be captured, claiming the name of the one they had defeated, yet offering no resistance.
When a Demon King offers peace, can you trust it?
And when it blooms to something more, can you trust yourself?

In a bored manner, King Ganondorf asks, “The princess’s favorite flower, what is it?” And he does not look at Link while he asks this, nor does he bother to address Link by name.
Instead, he stares at the backs of his nails, idly pondering the blunt tips of them and their cerulean polish.
It takes a moment for Link to even understand that the question is being directed at him.
The women of the Gerudo court snicker and smirk behind Link’s back. He quickly fumbles with his hands for an answer and he is nearly halfway done with signing the words for ‘Silent’ and ‘Princess,’ when the King sharply barks,
“Do I have to ask again?”
Link’s hands still.
Or, Zelda is set to marry Ganondorf by the end of the year. In the meantime, Link is to stay in the Gerudo Kingdom on her behalf.

Link, a knight whose talents are wasted in an era blessed by light, gladly takes the sword offered by the mysterious stranger and rises to the challenge. Months later, when he ventures forth into the verdant summer to fulfill his end of the bargain, Link begins to realize that he may never again return to Hyrule.

Honestly, he should've seen it coming. From his job, because of course, the three-star Michelin restaurant he managed to land a full-time gig at straight out of university, had gone up in flames only six months away from completing his apprenticeship. To his home with an eviction notice taped on his door the previous morning, a two-bedroom apartment he grew up in science his family came here. To his family. Or what was left of it, because, of course, despite finally being a citizen, his Nana’s insurance deemed her ineligible for any government assistance outside of some medical care.
Now he was bleeding out in the center of the city that did its damnest to strangle the life out of him. At least he could gaze up at what little stars could be seen above the artificial lights…. Well, he attempted to, and yet he finds his sight blocked by three ethereal, almost golden beings that look a little too much like the ruling deities of his favorite childhood video game. ‘Seriously? This is how I die? Hullesnating about a game I bearly remember?’
