Summary
Azem died. They can't even remember how but they really hope it wasn't in some stupid way, like getting distracted and falling off a cliff - even if Hades would say that would be on brand for them.
But now - reincarnated as a strange person with rabbit ears in another star and yet somehow holding on to all their memories from their past life - they must live on, even with the unbearable weight in their shoulders from losing Hades, Hythlodaeus, and the whole of Etheirys.

Summary
Emet-Selch toils for all of Paradise back. But in the meantime, he will settle for keeping the memory alive of his dear friend, and the legacy they have left him in this broken, fractured world. Perhaps with time, they will come to see his side of things in a way their ancestor never had. And after the Ardor is passed, they will be complete again.
---
Before the Seventh Umbral Calamity, Emet-Selch finds a shard of Azem on the Seventh. Unable to bear repeat witness to his friend's destruction in any form, he sets out to rescue the child from the terrible mediocrity of sundered existence.

Summary
"Fighting will burn the energy and tension out. Not as well as the other, but it will work if there is no suitable person or persons around."
Purple and gold eyes both blink at that last statement.
"No 'suitable' persons?" The owner of the first set echoes her words. Why, she wonders, does that sound like he's taken insult where there is none to be had?
"Meaning what exactly?"
"Meaning no compatible partners in which to share my bed with." Vala snaps at Emet-Selch and his damnable questions. "I will not take just anyone to soothe the burn; to be invited is to be acknowledged as someone safe, someone who can be trusted when my people are at our most vulnerable."

Summary
"Hythlodaeus," Azem drawls in a voice light in nature and with the most unintentionally condescending manner one might find outside of a particularly vexed professor. "my dearest, most treasured star of stars who shines brightest within my heart do shut up about the oh-so-esteemed Lahabrea and his bedamned lectures. I've heard enough of them and him to last me at least another ten centuries or more."
Hythlodaeus grins beneath his mask and takes a seat beside the grouchy Convocation member currently threatening to give Hades a run for his money with the furrow of their brow. "Upset him again, did you?"

Summary
After Thordan's fall, Lahabrea finds himself alone and adrift in the aetherial sea with nothing but his thoughts for company. Even in death, he could still sense Zodiark’s will. Perhaps it wasn’t unlike how Hydaelyn kept Her champion from dying, he mused. Nor would he find peace, it seemed, until She deemed his soul cleansed enough to move on.

Summary
Azem is a ghost, and the Warrior of Light, apparently, is a medium for all the skill with which he has in coaxing ghosts to speak. And worse, he is also an aspiring necromancer. Azem cannot help but be convinced to let him try to bring them back.
They will not abandon their duty...but they can simply agree to just- watch, right?
In which a WoL adopts a very lost Ascian. The Scions should have expected this.

Summary
Azem follows the Warrior of Light through Othard, and observes as Doma is liberated from Garlemald's choking grasp. Sometimes they get too close for comfort.
Corrain de Fortemps tries his best to bear the weight of being the hero of two continents. Sometimes, he catches the Ascian paparazzi watching - and tries to see if just this once- maybe they won't have to fight.
Five times the Warrior of Light and Azem of the Unsundered see each other - and sometimes there's a big nuzzly yol involved.

Summary
“...who are you, Ascian?” he asks, and tips his head to the side. The Light atop his staff dims only slightly- the link to the light in his soul too strong to snuff it out entirely. But he knows Ascians are creatures of the Dark, so if he's pretending they can be cordial, he can at least try to temper the glow within.
“...Azem. Of the Unsundered,” they say quietly- and that name is familiar too, though he cannot say how.
Or, the one where Azem saves the Warrior of Light from Zenos, and everyone - even the other Ascians - cannot stop what has been set in motion.

Summary
It isn’t the Sundering that breaks them.
It isn’t Zodiark’s summoning, the Convocation voting for sacrifice upon sacrifice, using their people as fuel for a god to save them. It isn’t even their failure, time and again, to protect their people and do their duty and stop the Final Days. No, in the end, what breaks them is something- so much smaller, in the grand scheme of things, it almost feels like an insult. Just one more casualty to the calamity their lives have all become.
It isn’t supposed to happen.
Azem's descent into grief begins during the Final Days with the loss of two of the three people they love most on the star. Thirteen thousand years of empty despair follow.
