XD was dying.
It had been slow at first. Insignificantly small pieces of him were being ripped out and, as his being as a whole was infinite, he’d barely noticed.
But for months, years maybe, his divinity had been slowly depleting, until one day he realized that his connection to Limbo had been almost completely severed. A whole chunk of him was about to no longer exist. And it was a small fraction of an infinite, but it was one he could no longer ignore regardless.
From there, it kept getting worse. The human, Dream, the one that was stealing away his being piece by piece, was getting greedier. More impatient. More foolish. XD needed to stop his act of hubris.

"You know, you could use your chosen one to carry out your bidding” Foolish pointed out after a moment of reflection. “But nobody is gonna rally beside Tommy right now. (He couldn’t remember names or faces, only colours. One who was red like fire, another who was yellow as the sun, someone else who was pink wearing bows, a fourth who was bright as a rainbow cyan and green and yellow and red and more; the list went on. But Ro still could barely remember them.
But if he had people, then where were they? Why hadn’t they come to save Ro from whatever this was?
Why was he stuck here with nothing but white until he somehow got food or water which seemed to appear out of thin air, with nothing but his own thoughts and breathing, stuck here all alone.
What if they gave up on him.
What if this was all his fault.
Why would they give up on him?
Why would it be his fault?
He didn’t know, and that scared him

Most people writing foster aus have no idea what they're doing. And tbf- that's okay. Most people aren't reading foster aus for accuracy. Summary
Life was a horrible blur nowadays, compiled with the simple tasks of wake up, eat, get taken to the medbay, thrown back into his cell afterwards, given one more meal then sleep. Only for the day to repeat itself tomorrow over and over again like a clock.
Ranboo didn’t understand what was so fascinating about him. They poked and prodded like he was a space anomaly. Scars littering his body like he was the stars the aliens ship sailed across in. Nothing ever changes.
That is until two new aliens are thrown into his room and with them, the idea that maybe he could have a life beyond the cage he learned to accept. That is if they don’t eat him first.
Or: Ranboo has been held captive and experimented on by aliens for a long time now. He gets a new chance at life when Tubbo and Tommy get kidnapped by the same aliens, starting the butterfly effect to freedom.

And will Tommy's growing doubt and insecurities interfere or will he make the cause's of such things realize just how fucked up he may be, forcing long one-sided conversations, sleepless nights and denial.

Probably right about the time they migrated over from their meeting room to Techno’s cottage in the snow, actually. They’ve seen Ranboo unbuttoned, unsewn, soft-edged before; he doesn’t need to perform that put-together sharp-dressed figure for them, not when they are safe and he is safe and everything is slow and soft and sweet.
