Summary
Killua’s earliest memory is not being able to breathe - a heavy, suffocating haze tracing back to the torture training that’s been a part of his life since birth.
Sometimes it feels like he’ll never get away from it all, that he’s cursed to drown in the weight of his family’s ambitions for him, all because he happened to be born a Zoldyck.
But it’s different, at times. When he’s with Alluka, witnessing the amazing things that his little sister is capable of, things don’t always seem as grim.
… and Gon.
The world seems pretty different when he’s with Gon. Simpler and easier, like the weight that’s always sat on his chest isn’t so heavy after all.
To breathe is, in some ways, to be free, and that’s something he’s been fighting for his whole life.
My first ever contribution to a HxH Big Bang, exploring Killua's past and aiming to fill in some blanks there. Also written to be consistent with Postcards, and generally as canon-compliant as possible <3

Summary
Whale Island has never felt so small and isolated as right then, standing next to Aunt Mito’s letterbox holding a postcard from someone he’s suddenly not sure he’ll see again for a very long time.
After parting with Killua at the World Tree, Gon returns to Whale Island, weighed down with regrets. Sporadic postcards from afar are now his only connection to his best friend, fragile threads stretching across the vast distance as he tries to untangle what Killua truly means to him. As he drifts in the ache of separation and an uncertain future, darkness stirs on the horizon and threatens to draw them back together - whether they are ready or not.
My attempt to fill in the gaps for Gon and Killua between the World Tree and the Black Whale, with some creative liberties taken!
