Summary
"'Ello?" Edd greets from the other end. Though it's not as chiper as he's used to, he can't exactly blame him though. This is the first he's spoken to his roommate since he left for the bars late last night.
"Uh, hey Edd." Tom says, almost sheepish as he glances at the officer behind him. Bile is starting to crawl up his throat again. Fuck, he's calling Edd to tell him he's at the station and he doesn't even realize why he's here.
"Tom! Oh my God, Matt and I have been calling your phone all night, where the hell were you?" He sounds like he wants to be angry, but hints of concern rise in his voice the more he goes on. "No. Scratch that, where are you right now? Matt's at work, but I stayed behind just in case you came home."
Sucking a breath through his teeth, Tom forces himself to laugh. Thinking maybe it will placate what he's about to say. "Funny story actually, I uh, I might be at the police station?"

Summary
“May Hades strike you for your disrespect,” mutters Zagreus. He has hardly any breath left, the world dimming. He tries to reach for his spear, but his fingers merely twitch.
He didn’t intend the words as a summons. Would never, even now, knowingly call on the lord of Hades for help.
But that is who appears in a foul cloud of brimstone shot through with bright sparks.
OR: Hades may not esteem his son, but that doesn't mean he'll permit anyone else to disrespect him.

Summary
The heat is overwhelming once back in the car, but Kevin bears it only for the shivering form in the backseat. He keeps an eye on him, glancing into the rearview as often as he can while maintaining safety as he drives, but Peralta never notices. Raymond's coat is almost comically large on him—the sleeves hanging over his palms and the shoulders too wide for the young man's smaller frame. It would be reminiscent of a little boy playing dress up in his dad's clothing if it weren't for the fact that Peralta is not only an adult, but one that they had found near frozen on a bench in the middle of the night. His head is down, wet hair dripping rivulets onto his face, and his arms are wrapped tightly around his body like a lonely hug.
It's such a pitiful sight that Kevin feels something inside of him crack. Raymond's hand, still a little cold from being outside, slips into his and squeezes.
“You know,” Peralta's voice cuts through the silence of the car, “my dad showed up again.”Or
Jake's dad returns and causes an upheaval in his life that no one is sure he can come back from.

Summary
“First of all, I need you to believe me.” Grantaire's tone was more somber than anything Enjolras was used to hearing out of him.
“...Yes,” Enjolras said, concern bleeding into his tone. His mind flipped through dozens of scenarios, each one worse than the last, in quick succession. “Of course I will.”
“Okay.” Grantaire sighed and ran his hand through his hair as if steeling himself for something. A bold line of black ink on his wrist became briefly visible when the sleeve of his sweater pulled back with the movement. Enjolras knew that it was the tip of the tail of the dragon tattoo wrapped around his arm. “Have you ever seen Groundhog Day?”
Or, Grantaire gets time looped.

Summary
Their latest protest turns violent, and everyone's back home except Enjolras, who disappeared in the stampede. Grantaire isn't taking it well.
“Grantaire –”
“He could be one of those fucking bodies!” Grantaire snapped, dragging nails across his scalp in an effort to translate his terror into something physical. “He could be one of those people in the hospital! He could still be there, he could be in a fucking cell by now, Jesus fuck.”
