Summary
He is not born in the sense that people understand - he simply becomes, between one ripple of starlight and the next. Like he's appeared out of nothingness and onto a bustling street filled with people going about their evenings. No one looks at him as they pass by, talking and laughing and calling back and forth to vendors that line the streets. The air is heavy with the scent of humanity, fried food, life.

Summary
Wei Wuxian presents as an omega just over a month after they arrive for the Cloud Recesses lectures.
The thing is... no one expected him to actually be an omega, and his presentation is, in a word, messy. Feral omegas aren't natural, not as far as those in power are concerned, and they certainly aren't meant to cultivate alongside alphas and betas.
They definitely aren't supposed to form a fractured bond with an alpha like Lan Wangji, who does not handle the situation well in the moment, and is then forced to watch the aftermath his actions cause. Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian struggles to come to terms with what it means to be an omega, and how it feels to be rejected by the only person your soul has ever cried out for.

How very on the nose. Even he has heard the murmurs from within the Jingshi, and so Lan Wangji is expecting the summons well before it reaches him, his qiankun pouch already packed and Bichen humming steadily at his hip. Her presence is a warm and long-familiar weight that sways with his steps as he makes his way to the Hanshi, where Brother is no doubt awaiting his arrival.

Dwayne is not a morning person. He’s the epitome of the phrase “it takes a pot of coffee to resemble something human.” A hilarious comparison, all things considered, but true nonetheless. It’s not good for him, especially not with his frequent and often debilitating migraines, but he’s lived this long doing shit that isn’t exactly good for him; what’s one more vice added to a list that would make even the most hardened soldiers shudder in their boots? After the life he’s lived thus far, needing enough caffeine to power a small town pales in comparison to most things.
Too bad he’s out of coffee.

This causes problems, naturally, because McGarrett doesn't like Shifters much (at all), and Danny is a Shifter. They're determined man-creatures though; they'll figure it out.

They’re in Seungmin’s room, backs against the wall, a movie on Seungmin’s laptop playing mostly as background noise. Jeongin’s in an oversized hoodie and sweats, legs spread lazily over the duvet. Seungmin’s half-slumped against his side, arms folded, sipping from a can of something fizzy.
“Hey,” Seungmin blurts out of nowhere. “Bite me.”
Jeongin chokes on his own spit. “What?”
Seungmin doesn’t look away from the laptop. If he looks, he might take it back. “I want you to bite me.”

“Why not?”
“Friends don’t do this, Seungmin,” Jeongin states. Oh great, now he's no longer Minnie, which is a little disappointing.
“That’s not true. Friends could do this, and I wanna see. I won’t be weird about it.” See, right there is one of those fibs, because if Jeongin really is big, Seungmin is going to be a little weird about it. Possibly a lot.

Summary
Seungmin and Jeongin have been friends for almost two decades, which is almost as long as their families have co-owned a luxurious island resort. Years ago, in an attempt to teach their sons responsibility, their parents sent them there to work. Seungmin quickly became the administrative supervisor due to his keen attention to detail and a burning desire to not have a manager, but Jeongin remains a concierge.
He’s never been able to figure out why his friend refuses to promote, but Seungmin will admit that Jeongin’s constant company in the administrative offices is nice.
Maybe it’s odd that they’re together more often than not, and that they cuddle in their shared room before bed. But Jeongin is straight and there’s nothing Seungmin can really do about that.

“Goodnight,” Jeongin tucks himself closer, and Seungmin can perfectly picture the curve of his smile and the dimples in his cheeks, less noticeable now that they’ve gotten older yet there all the same.
“Goodnight,” is all Seungmin says.
I love you, is what he means.

Summary
Hyunjin says something when he turns back to Seungmin. Seungmin shakes his head before standing and walking out of the room and heading straight for Jeongin. If Jeongin were stronger, he’d let Seungmin be, but he’s so fucking weak and takes him into his arms as soon as he’s within reach and buries his face in his neck and breathes deep. He’s holding onto him much too tightly, but Seungmin doesn’t complain. Seungmin never really complains; instead it’s painted all over his face, his scent, the way he stiffens from Jeongin’s touch instead of relaxing into it.
Jeongin holds back a whimper at the apathy.
However, he calms instantly at Seungmin’s healthy, albeit irritated scent and pulls himself away. He stands with his arms behind his back so he doesn’t touch him again. He’ll try harder not to impose himself on Seungmin. That’s enough for now.
