    Gen has been dreaming of a castle that doesn't appear on any map.

    A place lost beyond the forest, where time seems to have stopped and statues fill the halls like ghosts carved from stone.

    Then, one night, he finally reaches its gates.

    And discovers that the castle isn't as abandoned as he thought.

    Because a beast lives at the top of the tower.

    And somehow, it seems to have been waiting for him.

     

    Or, the story of how Asagiri Gen accidentally broke a curse, uncovered a kingdom's worth of secrets, and fell in love with a beast along the way. Apparently, all it takes to save a kingdom is one forbidden mage, one very stubborn medusa, and a truly questionable amount of bad decisions.

    Summary

    A canonverse-with-magic AU where Senku has been cursed all his life to be unable to love, and Gen has been cursed all his life to be unloveable. Senku likes himself the way he is. Gen would like true love's kiss yesterday. Together, they play mind games.

    One fic takes place during canon, the other in a modern setting where the petrification was averted using the time machine. Both should be readable as standalones or in any order. Both plotlines can be interpreted as either separate or connected, according to the reader's preference.
