    Summary

    Zelda's life is destroyed, her heart broken and mind shattered. She finds the world still holds some good people, while yet discovering the depth of apathy, callousness, and outright evil everywhere at work. Wandering without plan, destiny drives her onward to a fortuitous island.

    Dr. Robotnik seeks to gain ultimate power, creating armies of all sorts over the course of his carer. In various parallel lives, Sonic has been a loyal creation, a rebel leader, and an everyday schmo; now he finds Möbius destroyed and himself thrown into a gritty world of magic, where a Deku Scrub nurses him back to sanity. Here in Light World, his path crosses Zelda's, a girl all but destroyed by a narcissistic covivant. He teaches her to stand on her own, and together with Tails and Ruru (Musaigen no Phantom World), they set off to free the world from the bad guy.

    Years pass, and they're nowhere closer when Peach stumbles into their lives, an innocent who sets her sights on Zelda, her half-broken knight in tarnished armor.

    In the sequel “I am Legion”, they continue on to save the world from a new threat from “out there” — an existential horror — and Tails's lost love Amy [Wong] (an AU-AI) comes into play.

    Summary

    A shapeshifting Genomorph and a Deathworlder (i.e.: Human, a.k.a. Space Orc) meet under less than ideal circumstances.  The Genomorph finds zerself in dire straits, zer ship marooned on Earth, and ze's surrounded by lethal wildlife of every description.  Over time, they find each other not quite so alien as one might expect, and discover together that deathworlds and hellworlds can hold a certain charm.

    In a later episode, the party grows as they're joined by a Space Cat-girl and her girlfriend, and all of the complications and hijinks that such things can entail.

    Every time that I think that I've finished this series, a new idea crops up.  For now (as usual) it's “Complete”... for a given value of complete. 😆

    Summary

    This series started as just a one-shot to help people with AO3's CSS for making work skins.  Then I added a piece on making series.  Then it... snowballed.  I don't expect to add further tutorials, but I hadn't expected to write these either.  I'm calling the series complete, but who knows (one thing that keeps nudging me is to take the statistics and show how fics' half-lives vary, for example; another is putting all weird AO3 fixes into one spot).

    Summary

    The Peanuts gang (relying most on comics canon) is in an EOTWAWKI-Hellscape brought about by the Ancient Ones of Cabin in the Woods (who are herein the Senior Partners [the Wolf, the Ram, and the Hart] of Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel and some of the Old Ones in their eternal sleep [presumably this series's future history will ultimately result in Firefly / Serenity, and the usual Wayland-Yutani connection along the way]).

    Think Scooby Apocalypse with a dash of MST3K (or Morgus Movies, or USA Up All Night, etc.).

    Series will include (not necessarily in this order) The Fly (1958, 1986), The Thing, Night of the Living Dead, Halloween, The Island of Doctor Moreau, Hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm Street, Puppet Master, The Mummy, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Frankenstein, Dracula, Underworld, The Shining ; possibly some Lovecraft (primary canon novel material more than the movies).

    I “knew⁠ ⁠” at a gut level that it could be done!  CSS is supposedly Turing complete, so... GoL (and any other computable computation) should be do-able, but I would never have come up with the details' necessary rules — even a single example shows that: #workskin .gol:has(~.phase1[open]):has(~.phase2:not([open])) :is( :is( :not([open])+:not([open])+:not([open])+*+*+*+*+:not([open]) )+[open]:is( :has(+:not([open])+*+*+*+*+:not([open])+:not([open])+:not([open])), is brilliant, madness, and perfect.

    I ran a simple 5-cell Glider (standard, I know) through desktop Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge, Opera, and TOR, and on iPhone Safari and Android Chrome, and it worked like a charm!  It has some weird intermediate steps visible (starting at step 6) before reaching each generation's final step, but I think that those are fun to watch, and they don't have anything to do with the actual no-shit reality level of things at the next Gen's viewing stage, but I love that they give a visual peek under the hood at the logic of which detail is operating at a given moment (seeing the actual CSS still does that, but watching it live is way cooler).

    Haven't read this yet, but I like the general premise of Ash fucking shit up as usual, and having to clean up his own mess.  Tossing in some universe-hopping is always fun.  The smut could mix well with it, or parallel things in its own way.
