Summary
After yet another failed attempt to save Madoka Kaname from the fate of a Magical Girl, Homura Akemi is suddenly and abruptly pulled away from her cycle through time into another world with its own magical heroes and magical threats.
Now she must discover what she can about this world, in the hopes of finding a way back to Madoka. That is--if she can survive. Trolls, goblins, changelings, wizards, and magical beings alike dominate the hidden corners of Arcadia Oaks, and she must take care to not fall into despair as she journeys through this unfamiliar time and space.
With her soul gem being seemingly hijacked by an unknown magic, and her usual tactics and strategies balking in the face of new enemies, Homura Akemi will have to rely on the aid of a champion of the magical world--the Trollhunter--and his allies in order to succeed.

Toby Domzalski: dislikes being reminded of deadlines, shitty videogames, high ping, ruined historical artifacts, broken promises, being lied to, and being alone.
And Toby Domzalski: doesn’t get why Jim keeps lying to him, but he’s at least happy that he’s gotten a new cool pal in Claire, who is now, suddenly, maybe dating Jim?
So it’s kind of weird they keep acting like every day they spend with him would—might?—be his last. It’s not like he’s planning to die any time soon.
(There is a sadness here that he can’t seem to erase, and he feels, fundamentally, that it’s his fault. Because he’s meant to be alone, and he’s been running away from that fact since the day his grandmother finally told him how his parents died.)

Toby Domzalski has a dream. He's been having lots of dreams, actually. They're not really the average kind of dreams you'd expect a teenager to be having. Being crushed to death and watching your best friend who basically skipped town a year ago do weird things like stabbing himself with a cool sword and opening portals with dark-haired sorceresses, it's like...well, it's kind of just weird, you know.
So when those dreams start matching reality, just a tiny bit, he starts getting pretty damn worried.

It was supposed to be a joke, universe. He didn't want to be Kakashi Hatake in any shape, way, or form, but now he was.
He just has to deal with it, so he does—in his own, special way, of course! By pulling out every Wish Fulfillment Naruto Cliche and Trope out of the book.
It's too bad that he's in a crack fic that already had a star of its own.

Summary
It's been weeks since Jax abstracted. He's been confined to the big purple tent, devoid of any light, because darkness keeps him calm. The others visit when they can stand to, though it’s not often. Pomni visits every night.
She tells herself it's just to check on him, that they were friends, and friends do that sort of thing. But then she starts talking to Jax, or whatever is left of him, about everything and nothing all at once, and somewhere along the way she starts to notice things she can't explain. The way the creature goes still when she speaks. The way it tilts, almost imperceptibly, toward her voice.
He's abstracted, and this shouldn't be possible, she thinks. That is, until Pomni begins to do her research and understand what abstraction really means- what it takes from a person, and more importantly, what it leaves behind. She has a theory, and the window to act on it is closing fast.

An excellent epilogue and follow-up to TADC's ending that has just...the most FANTASTIC character studies and prose that drags you deep across the grooves of Pomni's mind, and how she must be feeling after the ending. Every single line, when it comes to Jax, seems so thoughtfully crafted to invoke the impression of someone examining the loss something has left them with, and trying so hard not to discard the things that they still have. And it's good. It's agonizing. Pomni doesn't burst and explode at the seams--just moments where the doors to the dam are opened, carefully, recklessly, and then shut back open again. But you can feel it. The anger, the grief, waiting and never waning. It's painful and beautiful all at once.
I hope to see this story to its conclusion and follow it every step of the way.
