I thought that I could do it. That I could save everyone... even if it cost me everything, cost me every scrap of power I'd ever earned, it would be worth it. Stopping Aizen, saving my family, my friends... no. It would more than worth it. I'd learned the Final Getsuga from the Old Goat. Ichimaru had used his last breaths to tell me the secret to Aizen's sword. I'd been ready to end it.
And then... everything had turned white, and I'd realized I was too late. He made the key. He killed us all. And all of my hopes, dreams, and wishes came to nothing.
Or, well, they should. Instead I woke up, staring down at my eight year old self in my bed, while everyone in Karakura came running to destroy the Hollow that had just shown up in a child's room.
It wasn't the second chance I'd hoped for, but it was the one I had. And i would save them all... even if the hole that was my heart ached in pain every moment of my new life.
