Summary
Takashi knew what was coming. He could have avoided it. He didn't need to be part of the main story. But he didn't want to be a normal guy again. What was the point in living in a world with superpowers if you didn't use any superpowers.
So with UA on the horizon there are people to meet if he wants to get as strong as he can. After all, if you're going to build your own quirk up you might as well plan ahead and get a build you like. Plans may change but if you're going to do something you might as well commit. Go Beyond, Plus Ultra.

I recommend reading to at least chapter 13. First really big change happens around there.

“No shit,” Kaveh snorts. “The ‘love’ component, though—it’s, uh—”
“You’re not in love?”
He coughs. “The greenhouse in my lungs begs to differ. I—it’s more that my body is mourning a love it knows can’t ever be requited.”
For all the negative feelings Alhaitham’s encountered over the past twelve hours, the sensation that creeps through him now is…
Unfamiliar.
Unknowable.
Despite all the languages he’s fluent in, Alhaitham is unable to conjure a word or phrase with which he can immediately label it. He just knows that whatever this feeling is, it’s unbelievably unpleasant. Like his body is stationary, yet his internal organs are plummeting into the Abyss.
“You love someone who doesn’t love you back?” he asks after a moment.
Kaveh has Hanahaki. That much is known. But who he loves, and whether Alhaitham will be able to save him, is up in the air.

Sakura terengah-engah. Kakashi merasa lega, karena itu cukup ampuh menutupi suara tersedaknya sendiri.
“Tunggu, benarkah?” Naruto menatap bergantian antara papan tulis dan Sasuke.
“T-tidak…” Sakura mengulurkan tangan sambil napasnya perlahan kembali teratur. “Maaf. Itu tadi… wow. Tidak, Kakashi bukan Uchiha.”
“Tapi Sharingan itu kan milik Uchiha, ya? Bagaimana dia bisa memilikinya?” tanya Sasuke dengan nada menuntut.
“Um… dia memasangnya. Itu memang ada. Pertukaran mata cukup mudah di sini, kurasa. Kau cabut dan pasang kembali… itulah mengapa semua orang sangat khawatir tentang pencurian dojutsu.”
Sasuke tiba-tiba berdiri dengan kasar. “Jadi aku bukan hanya khawatir dibunuh, aku juga khawatir mataku dicongkel. Oke! Bagus sekali! Aku tidak akan menjadi ninja lagi!”
“Yah, kau belum memiliki Sharingan ,” kata Sakura lemah.
“Tidak, serius. Aku baik-baik saja. Ninja memang keren, tapi pandai besi lebih hebat. Itu rencana baruku, teman-teman.”
Naruto memiringkan kepalanya. “Maksudku, aku tidak keberatan menjadi pandai besi. Atau petani. Itu pasti menyenangkan.”
