Summary
After the events in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter decides that he's ready for any bad guys that his neighborhood can throw at him, but finds himself in over his head when he stumbles upon a crime syndicate that has tech to rival the Chitauri weaponry. On top of that, he finds that something else is after the same criminals, a new vigilante named Venom that doesn't play well with others. When Eddie finds out that Spider-Man isn't quite a man yet, he does what he can to keep the kid safe-- while fighting crime, trying to hold down a job, and coexisting with a morally challenged alien.

Eddie Brock is strong, yes, he’s willing to admit that. But aesthetically speaking, Brock is no where near the quality of Riot’s host. It’s like comparing an old Ford pickup to a million-dollar Maserati.
(Riot catches feelings. Things take a weird turn when he forces Eddie and Venom to help.)

Summary
Childe had always assumed that he would die young. He had accepted that a long time ago, ever since he accepted the mantle of a Fatui Harbinger. However, he always thought that he would die in a glorious fight, his body broken but spirit relishing the strong opponent that had bested him. He was okay with that type of death.
Unfortunately, it seemed like Fate had decided to add one last insult to injury, because, here Childe was, dying because he had fallen in love with the ex-Geo Archon. The same Archon who seemed to have discarded him like an old toy ever since the Osial Incident.

Jesse came to a full stop. This wasn't a whale or some unfortunate dolphin. The top half of the creature exposed itself as a man.
“Shit.”
Jesse felt his hand go to the revolver at his side, brushing the handle and approached the seemingly unconscious creature. Mers were not something he had experience with. They were a menace to sailors. Jesse had never seen one - much less one washed up on a lonely stretch of beach looking like it had been run through a shredder.

“See that’s the fun part, you don’t have to convince him of anything.” Hypnos smiled, “In fact, you don’t have to do anything for this plan. We’re just gonna take you out of the equation for a little bit, that’s all, grant Achilles some clarity of mind.” Patroclus’ eyes went wide as he put it together, fists clenching on his thighs at Hypnos’ blithe air over such a cruel plan.
“I am to be held hostage?” he rasped, heart heavy and throat tight, “To be used against Achilles like... like a favored toy dangled over a misbehaving child?”
