- I'm very much a promise duo and tax duo fanatic so like they appear a lot. I'm not sorry about it.

- Handwave-y mechanics / made up bits of lore regarding some things (because we have little info about them)

I was asleep for the end of the world.
Not as in, it happened without me noticing, but rather, when the reality of nuclear Armageddon sunk in, I decided I would rather die in my sleep.
I expected to have some sort of reaction besides falling asleep — something like what I'd read about once, where as the feeling slipped away from my limbs I suddenly wanted to live more than anything, or something. But no, all I could feel was relief that I wouldn't have to experience any screaming, or feel myself atomize right before the end.
What surprised me more than the peace I felt was the fact that I woke up.
A Pokemon Journey combining aspects from multiple canons, which I promise is not as dour as the idea of nuclear armageddon implies.

Summary
Wind blew past him as he fell. It caressed his purple locks in the only violent nature he knew he'd endure again and again willingly. Wemmbu gazed at the skies painted in orange
(flaming)hues, for an entire second forgetting that he was pushed off...By the person he thought he could trust and turn his back to. Suddenly everything felt...
So far away.
It matters not. Not anymore even if it's a betrayal Wemmbu experiences yet another time. He felt tired. Bone deep exhausted. Perhaps that was the reason for Flame's next blows to be not as strong as usual.
In the end it doesn't really change anything. Wemmbu still feels that hollow exhaustion by the time he admits defeat, by the time he gives up his title of 'the strongest' and Lettuce comes to collect him. For some reason the idea of execution doesn't sound as bad as it did before.
Maybe he could even rest a bit. Or see Rejoice.
Or: Wemmbu is tired. Flame... for some godforsaken reason... Cannot just not care.
Set after/during his Prison arc and some crumbs of the invis arc.
