Summary
Childbirth is possibly the most painful experience that the vast majority of people will ever go through. Let's not diminish that.
Something vaguely on par with it, however, from an emotional aspect, is finding out that you're a father to a less than an hour old baby on a random Saturday when you are not at all emotionally prepared for it, nor physically prepared, and, when all the guilt comes crashing down of not being there for the mother, for missing the birth of your own child, finding out that you need to take the baby home in the next few days.
Meet Evan Buckley.
If you have ever been in that situation, you and him will get along incredibly well.
or
A year on from Bobby dying, Buck finds out he has a kid. Turns out he's not as ready for it as everyone seems to expect him to be.

Summary
Dean knew he didn't have a lot to offer.
He was a recovering alcoholic with complex PTSD and a shit ton of daddy issues which he'd taken out on his own pseudo-kid. He was angry and selfish and destructive. He had a mom he loved but didn't like, a brother he'd pushed away time and time again, a dog that stayed with him only because it didn't know any better, didn't know him.
And he had Cas.
Inexplicably, somehow he had Cas.
or
Dean and Cas have an important conversation about self worth and about how Cas is definitely not a bird.

Summary
Buck stares at the man in the brown jacket with a flower in his pocket for three entire minutes and, impossibly, the man is still Eddie Diaz. Eddie Diaz, his best friend, his straight best friend, is sitting at a table, at the cafe Buck is supposed to meet his blind date at, wearing the brown jacket with a flower in his pocket that his blind date is supposed to be wearing and it’s just not making a lot of sense.
Or, Buck goes on a blind date. Impossibly, so does Eddie.

Summary
Maybe he just needs to meet the right person. That’ll help with the giant best friend-shaped hole in his chest. He clicks the end of his pen and writes:
I’ll meet the love of my life tomorrow.
Or, Buck's journal grants wishes. It's not his fault that the only things he wants are the things he can't have.

Summary
“My mom died,” Buck says flatly, like reciting a fact he read somewhere. He adds a small shrug, as if that explains it. It doesn’t feel real. The words sit in the air, weightless and strange.
Eddie frowns. Bobby shifts closer.
“Are you okay?” Bobby asks gently.
Buck blinks at him, then gives a quick nod, too fast to be convincing. “Yeah,” he says. His voice is thin, brittle. “Did you want me to start lunch? I was thinking maybe that cheesy broccoli bake.”
Eddie’s brows knit together. “Buck…” he says carefully, voice low and steady.
“Or chili,” Buck continues, his hands smoothing out a crease in his jacket like that’s the thing that matters. “I think we’ve got enough ground beef.”
“Buck,” Eddie says again, firmer this time.
Buck’s hands still. He finally looks up, meeting Eddie’s eyes.
Oh.
His mom died.
or
Margaret Buckley dies, and Buck tries to navigate grief, develops a complex relationship with apple pie, while Eddie, as always, is there.

Summary
What was supposed to be a harmless fake-dating scheme to survive Christmas with Remus’ enormous, nosy family turns into a chaotic mess of awkward glances, petty arguments, and one kiss that neither of them can stop thinking about. As tension mounts and walls crumble, Sirius and Remus find themselves tangled in something far more real than either of them expected — in every sense of the word.

Summary
“Angel,” he says casually, “have we been courting each other all these centuries?”
“Yes,” Aziraphale says after a long, quiet moment. His voice is tender, his eyes soft as he gazes upon Crowley. And that gaze— that can be nothing less than love, Crowley thinks fondly. “Yes, I rather think we might have been.”
“Huh,” Crowley responds, returning his gaze to the ceiling, and wiggles his toes further beneath Aziraphale’s thigh. “Fancy that.”
or,
In the end, Aziraphale and Crowley don’t really fall in love. They more… Saunter vaguely into it.
