“Has he always been like this?” Chimney’s voice is exasperated, strained as he’s forced to bend forward under the weight of Buck leaning on his back like a bicycle kickstand. It’s clear that he’s forcing Chim to support the bulk of his weight, grinning merrily. Bobby watches from the stove with a look of fatherly amusement as Hen sits at the bar with a mug of coffee, attempting to ignore them.
“Yes,” Eddie says instantaneously, shooting for annoyed but landing somewhere far closer to fond. He remembers the overly-confident way that Buck had carried himself, how he’d been stupid and headstrong, how Eddie had tried valiantly to hate him for weeks until he just couldn’t do it anymore. “Pretty much since the day I met him.”
“And you had a gun in your hand and somehow still didn’t kill him?”
“Every day was a struggle.”

Eddie settles into his life with the 118 after finally reuniting with Buck and it's a hell of a lot easier having an old army buddy there with him.

Summary
Buck knows he's bi. He knows what he wants. And what he wants, right now, is Tommy. Maybe his hand in marriage, because he's getting desperate. Because, despite all of his attempts, and all of the positive responses from Tommy, for some reason, Tommy just ... doesn't act on anything.
Tommy knows Evan is straight. He asked both Howie and Hen about it, and he trusts their word on it. It doesn't stop Evan from pulling him in, and making him fall head over heels for him anyway. Tommy knows better than to fall for a straight guy, he does, but ... he can't change it.
Everything would be easier if they just talked to each other, but where's the fun in that?

Buck hadn’t even thought about coming out. Of course, he knew that that was something people did, but he’d never thought about it as something he would ever need to do. Like he’d told Tommy, he was an ally—
Wait.
He was on a date. With a dude. That was more-than-an-ally behaviour. Buck didn’t know what that made him, but it did make him feel stupid for not taking time to think through what Tommy kissing him and him kissing Tommy back and liking it meant.
A bit late for that now.
There was a part of Buck, a part he was ashamed of that wanted to jump into the conversation with Tommy and Eddie and add that they were then going to go try and pick up some hot chicks. The words were on the tip of his tongue, but by some miracle, his usually missing filter kicked in and he bit his tongue.

What if Buck hadn't put his foot in his mouth during their first date and had come out to Eddie instead.
