Summary
Leo didn’t shoot awake like he normally would.
This has become a familiar song and dance for him- after far too long scrolling on his phone in the middle of the night, he eventually falls asleep, he dreams, usually something like Shredder and his brothers get involved, and he wakes up screaming. Depending on the night, someone might hear him and come running, (usually Raph) but others, he would be left to deal with the terror and paranoia and just overall bad that came with a nightmare all by himself.
This time, however, was very different.

He doesn’t want Ajaw shrieking in his ear about leaving their vessel all fucked up, he doesn’t want to collapse in the middle of a commission, or be found by Kachina and be dragged all the way to the stadium, or have Ifa and Mavuika and everyone else breathe down his neck for the next week because they think he’s incapable and helpless.
But that’s exactly what happens. Because of course.
(In other words, Kinich underestimates his ability to take care of himself and ends up paying the price for it.)
