Coincidentally, as in, purely a coincidence, your best friend’s name is also Lyney. However, your friend Lyney wears glasses, does magic tricks and is, quite frankly, a bit nerdy, though very kind (and maybe a little cute).
Unbeknownst to you, Lyney always tries to get your attention or flirt with you in someway. You brush it off as his sense of humor, as your eyes are only on the idol Lyney, though you know he probably doesn’t even know you exist.
Lyney is slightly frustrated, his flirting attempts being ignored as your friend but also being crushed on as your idol. However, he still takes precautions to you figuring out his true identity, as the fans might go haywire. As long as he can even stand hiding it, anyway.
