    As for the whumptober but it’s wingtober title, it’s simply because writing whump is fun, but writing whump with wings is better :3
    Also, I want to increase the amount of works in my ‘Of Feather And Freedom’ series, so I’m killing two birds with a stone there ~

    "The first time Verso had held Alicia in his arms like this, as something as fragile as a figment of a dream at the waking dawn—the memory of her both borrowed without intent yet oh so real, oh so cherished all the same—there had been a cry so fierce in her tiny lungs as steely had been the grasp of her tinier yet fingers around his thumb—stronger yet the grasp of her innocent gaze around his heart.

    But as Verso holds Maelle now in that same manner, his hands now shaking and his eyes blurred with pooling tears, there is no healthy cry spilling from her lips but a litany of agonizing whimpers, no bundle of joy so small and yet so heavy in his infant arms but instead a body much too frail and weakened despite its youth that had seemed to wither in cruel slow motion in his embrace as the years had passed, innocence still etched in her expression yet not mirth any longer in her eyes as they bleed a terrible sadness among the swirling colors of his prison and her own."

Okay, maybe Foggy is letting his thoughts run a little wild. “I just… I saw…” Peter doesn’t come in. “It doesn’t matter, it’s nothing. I shouldn’t have come. Bye, Mr. Nelson! Miss Claire!”

    Before Foggy can process the rapid-succession words Peter just sent his way, the boy is out the door for good and swinging between buildings already. “Huh.”
