Summary
So, here he is, helping a group of engineers, with Wolfwood grumbling about him working overtime. More often than not, Vash stays longer than he should helping out the engineers and answering any questions they have. He doesn't mind it, but Wolfwood says he can continue his conversation the next day since they're here for about a month compared to the last town they were in, which they were there for only a few days.
Wolfwood is right that he should have some boundaries and not overextend his kindness, but he's happy to help, especially when he can leave his sisters in good hands.

“Why did you do it?” He tries his best to mask the desperation and betrayal from his voice. He needed to judge this as a king. “You know what it did to Morgana. You know how the forces of sorcery corrupt. You’ve been supporting me all these years in the fight against magic, haven’t you? So why would you resort to such a revolting power such as magic?”
“I was born with it. I am magic.” Arthur felt his self-control snap.
“Then why the hell would you come here?” He practically shouted.
Merlin made no move to answer, silently staring at him through hooded eyes.
Arthur felt his temper flare. He made his way out of the dungeons, giving the guards orders to keep a close eye on the sorcerer.

Summary
Wolfwood was tracking the ark.
Why he was tracking the ark... that part he was still figuring out.
No matter what way he turned it around in his head, it was stupid. His contract was done. Finally, after years of enduring all the agony the Eye could heap upon him, all the torture, the drugs, the guilt, the sleepless nights and mornings spent picking dried blood out from under his fingernails, finally he was free. No one would come after him or the orphanage. He could happily fuck off into the sunset and be done with it all. This story, wherever it led, didn’t need him in it.
But he was tracking the ark.
Wolfwood wasn't sure what he'd find when he set out after the guy he betrayed. Whatever it was, it wasn't... eggs.

Presby brought a portable X-ray machine, one that connects to a phone. Sent along a tech to read the images too. Means they can access and treat broken bones in the field, instead of having to send them on to the hospitals. Means they can save transporting for the injuries that really need it.

Luida listened intently, nodding so that he could finish airing out his worries, “we’d like to avoid medically inducing if we can. So, I was curious if there was anything we can do to…speed things up I guess…?”
She leaned back, her expression appearing she was deep in thought before she spoke, “Well, there are a few things you could try. Eating certain foods or walking around might help. But there is an option that is said to be more effective than any of those. But keep in mind there isn’t much research done on it, but most people swear by it.”
Nicholas perked up, eager to learn about anything he could do to help Vash and their baby. He nodded with rapt interest, “what is it?”
Vash is pregnant and overdue. He does a decent job at masking his discomfort, but he can never pull a fast one on Wolfwood. Hoping to find a natural way of moving things along, Wolfwood consults with Luida for any recommendations. What she prescribes leaves him shy and embarrassed from the discussion, but determined and excited once he returns to Vash.

He steps from the room, tries to slow his heart rate down as he walks from Central 10 to the hub. Tries to convince his body that he’s fine, that the adrenaline can wear off now. No need for the fight or flight, it’s all okay. No need for the accelerated heartbeat, the tight chest. Dana and Robby are both at the hub when he gets there, Dana looking at paperwork, Robby on the computer. His chest is still tight, like he needs to cough. Clears his throat. Focuses on calming his respiration, realizes he’s still breathing too hard even though the threat has passed. Always did take him a minute to get it together again, after. Doesn’t have a bed to hide under now, like he did back home. Clears his throat again, the tightness still there. Clears it a third time when it still won’t go away.

Summary
What they don’t tell you about surviving a near death experience is that it’s a real shit disturber. You don’t get to just get back up and jump around again like nothing changed. Pretty damn near it, physically, in Wolfwood’s case, but mentally? He didn’t think he was a shining example of well-adjusted pre-death, and dying hadn’t done him any favors.
