Buck and Eddie turned to Chimney who seemed more perplexed about the outburst than either one of them. His face shuffled through emotions until he settled on a crease of his forehead that seemed defeated but not any less aggressive.
“Chim,” Eddie said, his tone stiff like a loyal German Shepard poised to intervene.
Buck bumped their shoulders, relieved to feel Eddie relaxing, “Chimney, what’s going on? You’ve been short fused all day.””
Buck is tired of the tension radiating off of Chimney ever since the field amputation him and Eddie delivered. Chimney finally shares his feelings.

A loud crash sounded from the kitchen, and Maddie looked over guiltily while Eddie stared in shock. Maddie didn’t move, so Eddie tentatively made his way into the kitchen and sharply inhaled at the sight before him.
“Buck!,” Eddie choked out, voice cracking as he met the eyes of a very sheepish looking Buck with flour on his cheek and another streak across his forehead.
“Um, hey Eddie. Long time no see?,” Buck said sheepishly.

A whistle blows. Theo’s committed another foul. This one might actually be assault — Chris isn’t a legal expert but Theo basically used that kid as a speed bump.
“—doing that. So, Theo wasn’t planned. And when my dad, the blonde one, told my other dad, it was like…” Chris exhales wearily, having seen too much. “They were struggling. Communication issues. You know how it is.”

Summary
To celebrate the end of the school year, Christopher's class is going to the beach. Christopher wants to go, but he has one request, that Buck comes with them.
