    Summary

Buck lives alone, has almost no friends, hasn't spoken to his family in eight years, and doesn't get along well with his colleagues and the commander at station 133. Until one day, Buck disobeys an order, which has consequences. As punishment, he is transferred to station 118.
It could be his new beginning, but his past haunts him. The first meeting with Captain Robert Nahs, his deputy Tommy Kinard, and colleagues Hen, Eddie, and Chimney does not go well at all. Even worse is the reunion with his sister Maddie, whom he hasn't spoken to in eight years.
Buck suffers at work and outside of it. He finds himself in a spiral from which he cannot escape, and he deals with it in the worst possible way.

Will Buck be able to start over? Or is everything heading towards an irreversible end?

“What the fuck, Buck. Look at us! We don’t do this, man. You can’t just up and leave after things get hard!” Eddie wasn’t sure how to stop being angry, how to not put everything on Buck, but his best friend leaving sure wasn’t helping.

“Oh, but you can?” Buck snarled and Eddie looked at him in disbelief.

“You…No. We’ve been over this. I know that you don’t think that I…” Eddie was lost for words but Buck quickly started speaking instead.

“That you what, Eddie? That you didn’t leave? That you haven’t changed? That we haven’t changed? Because we sure as hell did. And El Paso wasn’t the first time you did it. It is your fucking thing."

    Or

In the midst of their grief, Buck and Eddie fell out of their usual rhythm and went into two completely different directions. After a fight that took way too much from both of them and after the news that Eddie and Chris were staying in LA, Buck decided to move out and leave this thing between him and Eddie behind.

    Or

Buck and Eddie have another divorce era right after the events of s8e17. We ignore everything that happened after that episode. Chris is a sweetheart, Maddie Buckley-Han is amazing and Tommy is only here as a plot device.

“May, I, uh, don’t know if- if they’ll get here in time. My jeep was pushed off the road, I’m hanging on by the guardrail mangled under the backend somehow.”

“You’re gonna be fine.” She said firmly. “You will, Bobby will be there soon and will get you out, Buck.”

“Always liked how optimistic you were.” Buck chuckled. “A lot like me. Hard to keep that optimism and hope for yourself, but able to share it with anyone and everyone around you. Because it’s more important that they stay happy and content then-”

“Stop.” May’s voice cracked. “Stop, please. You’re- you’re like my big brother, ok? And you’re getting out of this. You are.”

“Ok, May.” Buck sighed. “Can I ask a favor?”

    “Yeah.” She agreed easily.

“Can- can you get Eddie? Just- there’s some things that need said. Just in case, ya know?”

    Summary

The voice had always been around, Eddie remembers it, like a stream of consciousness that babbled incoherently to the point where Eddie just tuned it out.

But then the voice started speaking directly to him. Conversing like he was a whole person standing right in front of him. Like he could see what was happening around Eddie.

Eddie shook his head. No one was talking to him, and Eddie most certainly was not talking back.

He wouldn’t talk to the boy in his head ever again. There was no boy in his head.
