    Summary

While at an archeological dig on a once-named planet, Spock encounters a strange phenomenon that alters the course of his life.

aka: the one where Spock's t'hy'la just happens to be the other brother.

“Still with us, Spock?” Pike asks, shifting his stance to make up for the strain caused by Spock’s high-density mass.

Before Spock can reply, though, before that impossibly slow process of his thoughts can parse the words spoken close to his ear, the other, younger, Kirk arrives, jogging from around the corner of the temple corridor.

“Jim,” Spock all but sighs, the tense line of his shoulder relaxing infinitesimally.

    “Jim?” asks Pike.

“Jim?” asks the Kirk in question, head tilting as he considers Spock carefully, confusion wrinkling across his forehead.

“Jim?” asks Lieutenant Kirk, of the George Samuel variety, fingers spasming to flex tight into Spock’s bicep as the pitch of his tone increases.

    Summary

“I’d argue the Chitauri invasion of New York is our sob story,” Rogers offered, letting Scott have this out. “But you inspired people, too. Don’t forget that.”

“How can I?” Scott couldn’t help the bitterness in his voice.

When a middle-aged man had jumped between an alien and some teenagers, he’d died with a laser hole burnt into his HUNTER 21 jersey.

Scott hadn’t even been there for that. He’d only see it weeks later, on a video shared only because of Hollander’s horrified face when he’d tried to drag the man to safety before realizing he was already gone.

“I don’t just mean in that fight,” Rogers said. The vehemence took Scott by surprise, making him lean back a little. “Before and after, with every game you play, every battle I fight, every interview we give — we inspire people. We give people hope, and there is little that is more powerful than hope.”

They were hockey players, not heroes.

    Summary

Chris lay still for a moment, listening.

One snore was deep, rumbling, and familiar—the kind that vibrated slightly through the mattress. Phil. Predictable. Reliable. Sounded like a warp core settling in for the night.

    The other—

Chris turned his head slightly and blinked.

Leonard McCoy was sprawled on his side next to Phil, one arm flung over a pillow, mouth slightly open, producing a sharp, offended little snort every few seconds—like sleep itself had personally insulted him and he was protesting.

Chris bit his lip to keep from laughing.

“Well I’ll be damned,” he murmured under his breath. “He does sleep.”

Phil snored louder, as if in agreement.

    Chris shifted his gaze downward.

    Jim was awake.

(Leonard and Jim are kids and survivors of Tarsus IV… Chris and Phil took in two very traumatized, feral boys… what the hell could possibly go wrong?? Oh… right… Klingons… and emotions.)

    Summary

SHANE HOLLANDER is a Son of Jupiter who’d rather stay in Canada, play hockey, and preferably, avoid the life of Roman Senates and politicking that would await him in California.

ILYA ROZANOV is a Son of Nike juggling his family’s expectations with a growing interest in his Canadian rival.

When the Great Prophecy comes to pass, the pair of them are forced to balance their budding NHL careers and the fate of the world itself.
