“Just don’t set them free this time,” Bard called back, not even opening his eyes. He and Thranduil were sitting on the terrace, glasses of fresh lemonade on the table, enjoying the sun. Thranduil chuckled and Bard squinted at him, half blinded by the light, half by his boyfriend. “What?”
“I just remembered the time they did set the goats free,” Thranduil explained, “Can you believe that was almost a year ago now?”

“I was going to put on real pants,” Bard grumbled.
“Just making sure,” she grinned, “You’ll have to look your absolute best.”

Thranduil froze and stared at Bard who in turn seemed fascinated by a loose thread he was pulling from his sheets.
“You must know that is not true,” Thranduil said hoarsely. Bard shrugged again and kept playing with the loose thread.
