Summary

She knows the shape of them, the sound of them, the bitterness and hurt and longing of them. She can feel them, aching like a phantom limb, tucked away in the folds of the crumbling Construct.
Her many hearts twist with agonizing empathy as she reaches out, fingers brushing lightly over the jagged edges of her hero’s fragments. It stings, but she doesn’t recoil. They’ve done much worse to her, and she to them.

Peter let out a shaky sigh of relief.
She realized one of her hands was wet though. Confused, she pulled it away from Peter to inspect it.

Her stomach dropped.

Something was deeply, concerningly wrong here.

Spider-man gets sick and manages to scare the shit out of a few thugs before Peter finally surrenders and stays home. He also stays home from his work at the Daily Bugle and after two weeks one villan has had enough of bad pictures in the paper. What could go wrong?
