if you asked anyone who knew buck and eddie, they would say the two men were extremely codependent on each other.
it’s okay, don't get them wrong; but when that misplaced codependency is purely a cover and an excuse for them to love each other at arms lengths (because they’re both too scared to make that first move), and put themselves out of that do-they-don’t-they like me misery, then that’s where it becomes an issue.
especially when both men (eddie) get jealous of the new romantic interest in his best friend’s (buck) life, and when both men (buck) get jealous of a new friend that their best friend made (eddie) that resorted in misplaced violence (injuring eddie’s ankle).

Buck coughed violently. Everything hurt and his ears were ringing. The air was thick with gray dust, making it impossible to see more than a few feet.
"...Ravi?"
Nothing. Buck forced himself onto one elbow. Pain shot through his ankle. He hissed.
"...RAVI?"
A raspy breath answered somewhere ahead. "...Y...yeah..."
Buck nearly cried with relief. "Are you okay?"
A shaky inhale. "..."
Then— CRACKLE
"118, sound off!" Chim's voice. "Buckley! Pannikar! You two okay in there? Respond!"
Buck grabbed his radio. "C-Cap... Buck here. I'm alive." He tried standing. The moment he put weight on his right foot—his ankle folded sideways. He cried out and collapsed back onto the broken concrete. He looked down. His boot was already swelling around the joint.
Blood dripped from a cut along his temple, sliding into his eye. His forearms were shredded with shallow lacerations from broken glass. "...I think..." he breathed, "...my ankle's twisted."
