Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”
There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.
“Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”
OR
Caitlyn has been assigned as the personal capcom to one of the astronauts currently on a year long expedition at the international space station. Cue long months of pining and desperate longing.

Viktor lifted his chin and looked at the man standing across the kitchen. He gripped the head of his cane. Jayce’s eyes gleamed with held back tears as he stood up straighter.
“I’m not asking you to stop like they are,” his jaw clenched, “I just want you to come home and try to get eight hours of sleep a night.”
“Jayce you know I’m lucky when I get four,” he threw up his hands and huffed, “Why should I be here and not sleeping when I could be with my work and not sleeping?”
“Because at least if you’re here I can help you when something goes wrong!”
The clock in the hallway ceased ticking. Jayce’s words hung in the air like the dense fog of Zaun. They stared, waiting for the other to break. The silence drew out for what felt like an eternity before they both broke eye contact.
For once, the three of them are all home on a Saturday morning. Breakfast is baking, conversations are being had, and they can't keep their hands off each other.

“The shoemaker’s apprentice,” Patroclus corrects him gently. He bows just a little. Green eyes watch as he does. “I’m here to take some measurements. For your new—” His eyes fall on the prince’s feet and the words die in his throat. He’s wearing a heavy wooden shoe on his left foot and a cloth slipper on the other. Patroclus tries to take it in stride but finds himself looking questioningly at the prince.
“You are curious about my shoe,” the prince says. His voice is perfectly steady, unreadable.
In the tiny kingdom of Phthia, a golden prince is cursed with invulnerability except for a vulnerable heel. An exile apprenticed to a shoemaker is commissioned by the palace to create a shoe the prince can fight in.
