Odysseus doesn't kill the child and the prophecy can come true. This changes a lot of things, especially because Polites doesn't care much about prophecies.

C'est un recueil de petits textes pour ma fanfict " Suis la lumière" où dans cette AU, Polites est le fils de Priam roi de Troie. Ce seront principalement les souvenirs de Polites à Troie mais peut-être j'élargirais avec ceux de Odysseus.

After Odysseus made his grand escape from Poseidon's wrath by using the winds of Aeolus, a curse was placed upon him.
A cursed that entailed he would slowly forget every core memory he bears for the one who taught him that 'mercy is a skill more of this world could learn to use.' And because he still didn't view Ruthelessness as the only true form of Mercy, and denying a god the satisfaction of having one cling to every word of his, might just bear a price that is too expensive to be paid by just apologies or sacrifices.

Summary
Polites noticed that Odysseus was getting a message from the gods or a headache when they were in that final battle against Troy. As the medic and the king's best friend, he had to follow him to Odysseus' new hiding spot to check on him. That was where he found the baby, the teeny tiny baby in desperate need of a new parent thanks to the war waging around them.

20 days after they departed from Troy, Odysseus and his men arrive in Ithaca. But just because they’ve made it home, it doesn’t mean they’re out of danger. After 10 years of war, Odysseus thinks running his kingdom should be easy. Or it would be, if he wasn’t harbouring the conspicuously alive son of Hector, trying to be a father to Telemachus, and assuring all of Penelope’s suitors that she is very much spoken for.
Meanwhile, Eurylochus is decommissioning the army, Polites is a professional bestie, and the Gods don’t quite know what to do about *that* prophecy.
On top of it all, a far more urgent danger arrives in Ithaca in the form of Neoptolemus, chasing rumours and the echoes of war.
