Someone’s forearm snuck under the box and lifted some of the weight off Taehyung’s hold, and Taehyung exhaled, relieved and content by the absolute saint of a man he’d just stumbled upon. “Thank you,” he said warmly, and he only noticed it at the very last syllable.
The smell. A familiar scent of amber and vanilla, creeping up into his lungs so silently and naturally that he could almost miss it.
“Oh,” the person said once they’d taken the box entirely from him, and Taehyung’s insides twisted violently as he blinked. Because this was a stranger, yes. A very familiar stranger in a dress shirt and crisp slacks and that warm-spicy cologne.
