Summary
Been researching books to help me become a better writer. A Bad Spell for the Worst Witch amoung them. I'll admit, it was pretty bold of Jill Murphy to include a theme of grey morality with Mildred Hubble's graphic and, to her dismay, necessary kidnapping of innocent Third-Year Student, Griselda Blackwood, leaving her bound and gagged on her bedroom floor and taking both her cat and her place at the school's Halloween festivities, to bring a wizard, transformed into a frog, before the "Grand Wizard", Egbert Hellibore.
What bugged me greatly was that the book ended too abruptly, meaning that Griselda got no resolution or reparations for her short, required yet clearly harrowing ordeal as Mildred's victim. Hence why I've done this.
Out of respect for her work, I've tried my best to duplicate Jill's writing style for this one to make it seem like something she would write. For a full effect, read the original text up to the point where you reach what is the first paragraph of this rewritten ending. Hope you like my attempt at venting and mending the mistakes of literature past.

It's the day after, which doesn't really sound like all that long a time, but for Eric it feels like an eternity. He sees his Senate colleague nearly every day at work. There's always something going on that he runs into him for. They don't have that many co-workers, they're in the same party, and they both hold seats on a couple different committees, after all.
But yesterday, after he voted yes on the goddamn defense budget– just like most of his colleagues did, for the record– he hasn't even caught a glimpse of the Kansas City Senator. Hawley wasn't actually in the chamber when he voted, but he assumes he knows. He has to know. There's no way he wouldn't check something like that. And ever since the vote– Eric hasn't gotten a single text from him, an email, certainly not a phone call. And he hasn't seen Josh's face since yesterday afternoon, before the vote even actually happened. It's weird. But it's not like he doesn't know the reason for it. No, he thinks Hawley has made the reason for it pretty damn clear.
