Michael rolled the name around in his head. Percy. That was a weird name. Well, not weird, but one he hadn’t heard in a while. He was vaguely reminded of an obscure Harry Potter character. The comparison was so absurd that it made him want to laugh.
“Does you telling me this mean we’re not strangers anymore?” Michael couldn’t keep the amusement out of his tone.
“It’s only my nickname, so it’s okay.”
“What’s your full name?” Even then, Michael knew that he wouldn’t be getting an answer. It was only confirmed when the boy – Percy – grinned at him.
“You’ll never know.”
Or: Percy spent a lot of time on the streets as a kid, so he gets some fun-slash-weird friends on the way as a bonus. Cue tiny street-rat Percy pulling pranks with a drug dealer at his side. (Once a Harlem skater boy, always a Harlem skater boy, no matter how many times you save the world.)
