Summary
Simon had a plan. It wasn’t a great plan, but it was the best plan he’d come up with so far. The whiteboard held the crazed ramblings of a man with ADHD and cortisol levels higher than Mt. Everest.
The plan currently:
1) Hold a funeral for Yao and Dubois.
2) Don’t walk out the airlock unsedated with them.
3) Use the nigh unlimited digital resources on the Hail Mary to get a microbiology degree as fast as possible while orbiting Tau Ceti to conserve energy and study its Petrova line.
4) With that degree and studying, figure out astrophage…somehow.
5) ?????
6) Send the beetles back with how to save the planet.
7) Pray his fellow men forgive him for taking so long.
8) Take his knockout drugs and THEN shoot himself out the airlock to die by space as originally intended. -

Summary
Tommy runs away to Techno's after banishment and there, in the frozen tundra, hearts melt, relationships are bonded and true healing is achieved. But it's gonna be a pain to get there.
...
"And why do you care? You, not three minutes ago, just hauled me out here and said leave. Since when do you care if I die?" Technoblade seemed taken aback for some reason. After a moment though he responded,
"I mean, you probably wouldn't even make it to the property line and that would just be inconvenient to deal with. Death tends to lower the property value. So for my sake, will you just come inside and warm up first?"
Something in Tommy sank that Technoblade didn't refute Tommy's claim of not caring if he died but Tommy wasn't too surprised either. But well, if the man was offering, it would be nice to feel his fingers again. Technoblade wasn't really one for lying either or tricks like this. So, Tommy shrugged and with as much grace he could muster strolled back into the nearly blazing warm house,
"If you insist, don't mind if I do."
...
AKA I demand everyone be 10% more rational and be a family again.

Summary
After mama Afton leaves her first family, she has another with just one kid, Kate. Kate Black is a 32 year old mechanical engineer with an abusive father who went missing when she was 22 and an absent mother who has terrible taste in men who skipped out of her life at 18 after a life of comparison to her kids from a previous marriage who'd died. Somehow. Her mom always clammed up when she started getting close to remembering and then shut herself away. Well, one of her kids was alive but her mom hadn't liked talking about whoever Micheal was even less than she liked talking about Kate.
Later, Kate would get a job at an animatronic rental facility and discover all the dark family secrets hiding inside.

Summary
Dogday. One of the Bigger Body Smiling Critters. Third success of their line and considered to have minor brain damage but nothing that would stop them from interacting with the children. An adult had been used for this successful one. An employee who was starting to ask too many questions and had just the right personality. It ended up a bit dimmer than the average bulb but it was enough of a success (and the children were beginning to be enough of a handful) that it was released to Playcare. Evidently not as dim as previously observed, if the truly intelligent glint in it’s white pupils and deliberate movement to stay out of view of the cameras was taken into account.
Interesting.

Catnap was so dead. So, unbelievably dead. He was in a place he really wasn’t supposed to be with some bolt cutters he really wasn’t supposed to have and he could hear an employee coming around the corner.
The footsteps rounded the corner of the long hallway. The employee came into view. Crap, even worse it was Percy. Percy hated the Bigger Bodies but he especially hated Catnap.

“Oh I thought I heard voices back here!” Somehow the situation had gotten worse, the bane of his existence had arrived– Dogday.

Less than nine days before the Hail Mary is to launch, Eva Stratt asks Commander Yáo to take on an impossible task.
A few minutes after the call ends, Dr. Grace arrives. He takes in the scene: three cots, Ilyukhina asleep on one, me sitting on one, and a third empty. Three cots for three crew members. I rise to greet him and note an expression on his face I can't easily read as he looks around the room. At that moment I am certain he will understand Ms. Stratt’s scheme. He's a brilliant man. Surely he will notice the implications of what is right before his eyes. But if he has any such realization, he gives no sign of it.
