He knew she didn’t speak the Trade tongue at first. He knew she had magic that made the Salisari uneasy. He knew she was not easily caught, if she could be caught at all. The Seeker and the Nightingale hadn’t managed it. He knew she protected people readily. He knew she killed people easily. He knew Krem said she held herself like she was someone important.
He knew she was wearing dragonhide and dragonbones when she walked across the rough stones of the Storm Coast to meet him.
But he didn’t know her. And one look at her face under the shadow of her hood told him knowing would not come easy.

The life native to the planet is inedible, the heavy metal content of everything makes everything very complicated, the perpetual darkness blocking out the visible light of the nearby star makes everything very complicated, and the random kaiju created by the mutagenic void energies coming from certain spots on the planet make everything very... you get the idea.

Robin slowly lowered the tablet with his powerpoint presentation and looked up at Red Hood.
“You care about Gotham,” Robin summarised. “Gotham needs Batman. Batman is missing and so is Nightwing. We need you to fill in for Batman.”
“You want me to cover Batman’s patrols?” Jason clarified.
“No,” Robin said. “I want you to be Batman.”
Jason bluescreened.
(Or: Batman and Nightwing mysteriously disappear before Red Hood has even started antagonising them, Robin is desperate, Gotham needs Batman, and Red Hood is Batman-Shaped.)

Summary
Tim Drake never actually wanted to become part of the Robin-Batman-vigilante outfit. No, really. But the last Robin up and died, and now Batman is going crazy, and no one else is doing anything about it, so...Tim decides to become Robin. He might as well, right? At the very least it'll give him something to do while his parents are gone.
Still, Tim's not taking up the mantle until he can put a couple of things in order. Step one? Making sure the Joker can't get it into his head to kill another Robin. Not ever again. (Good thing Tim's not the one with a 'no killing' rule.)
And then after that? Well, after that it's only just a matter of keeping Batman from learning Tim's identity and subsequently chasing him off. Not until Bruce can get back on his feet and pick a new Robin, a real one this time. Easy-peasy.

Summary
Ages ago, humanity discovered a way to fold space so that they could travel far faster than light. Travelling beyond lightspeed, deep into hyperspace, humanity populated the stars, but human minds and manual computers on their own could not handle going deep enough to make the travel fast.
The discovery of hyperspace kicked off the space age. The invention of AI that could plug directly into human minds and synchronize with them, modernized it. With AI synchronization, ships could traverse in days or weeks distances that would have taken months, or even years to travel. With AI, space was brought to the common people, and the people brought with them prosperity, and also war.
Within all of this is Midoriya Izuku, the pilot of the small courier ship Deku, and one of the few pilots in the galaxy flying without an AI. He's scraping by on his own, and is wholly unprepared for being pulled into a conflict involving the entire interstellar defence corps.
