He pressed himself further back into the corner, a snarl coming to his lips. The eye creatures never reacted to his shouting, but they did hesitate when he growled. But when the lanky aliens came around the corner, they didn't so much as look at him. Instead, they were focused on what looked like a stretcher, the kind that ambulances used back on Earth.
Sitting atop it, perfectly still, was another human.
Scar felt his heart stop in his chest. It was impossible. There was no way there was another human on the ship. It had to be a trick of some kind, a robot made to look human, or a statue, or something. This was some sort of experiment, a test to see how he would react to seeing something that looked like his own species.
But they looked so lifelike.

[SCAR]: Welcome to Ghost GIGGS, the series in which our tight knit crew studies as many supernatural and haunted locations as possible to figure out just how much truth there is to their stories. "Thanks!" Scar replied excitedly. "It only took a few tries this time too!"
"You both did great." Gem leaned over Skizz's shoulder to look at the laptop in front of him. "It looks like we've got all the footage we need for the opening segment!"

Summary
It's cold in Green Hill today. Most of the residents have tucked themselves away, bundled up with their loved ones and beverage of choice, but Shadow is not among them. He could be inside if he wanted to. Could even bundle up with a blanket and a warm drink. But instead, he sits atop the Loop de Loop, the highest point besides the mountain, eyes fixed on the horizon as if staring at it will make it stop changing colors as the sun slowly draws towards the sea. He doesn't really feel the cold, anyway. Not in any way that matters.
Below, distantly, he can hear voices echoing cheerfully over the hills. The cold quiets most other sounds, so it carries remarkably well. The words of their conversation are lost to the echo, but there's a warmth to them, and Shadow finds himself tilting his ears towards the sound despite himself. He wonders, briefly, what would happen if he jumped down from the loop and joined them. They wouldn't turn him away. Even so, he doesn't get up from where he's sat. He just listens.

Summary
According to Aristotle, “For as there are persons who, by conscious art or mere habit, imitate and represent various objects through the medium of colour and form, or again by the voice; so in the arts above mentioned, taken as a whole, the imitation is produced by rhythm, language, or 'harmony,' either singly or combined”.
In simpler terms, all art–but especially storytelling–is a form of imitation, drawing from real life. The storytelling within 3rd life is also a form of imitation, and because the narrative is improvised, it ultimately becomes closer to real life than many scripted works. Nearly every memorable tragedy can be traced back to the structures of the Poetics, and the 3rd Life Series is one of them.

Summary
Some genius had decided to cast Earthquake or something similar, and he had fallen into a sinkhole because of it. The pit wasn't nearly as deep as it had felt as he plummeted. There was a chance, though it was slim, that he could drag himself up the slope and be more visible to the healers above.
The moment he tried to move, he knew there was no way he would make it. His vision whited out as he shifted, trying to bring his good leg beneath him, and he let out a strangled sound as he fought to get control of himself again. As he leaned back against the crumbling wall, the sound of raggedy breathing reached his ears. At first, he thought it was his own. But no, there was another set of breathing. He pushed aside the pain as best as he could, eyes narrowing as he scanned the dim pit, locking on to a figure hunched over on the opposite side of the hole. The soldier he had been fighting against before the ground had caved in.
