“I could tear you limb from limb, rip out your optics and make you scream in agony, and still I would obtain nothing from you. Yet… there is but one thing I need to know, and then I will get all that I want out of you, scout.” His mouth tilted ever so slightly, sadistically, reaching his optics in a brightening light that flashed and then dimmed to glow wine red. When the warlord spoke again, it was in a slow voice, enunciating each syllable with a wicked intimacy, “What is it that you most fear?”

Summary
Argus' life was a largely thankless one (unless you counted the thanks of the paintings he maintained), working on keeping a thousand year old castle from falling down around the ears of students who didn't care. He had his cat, his work, his books, and a constant boil of self hatred and resentment to get him by.
And then a sixth year handed him a letter from her aunt, thanking him for acting as conservator of Hogwarts and calling him Dr. Filch. It was the first time he had been called Doctor since he started at the castle. He had little choice but to write back, after that.

Summary
Five times that Shouta notices something strange about Hizashi, and one time Hizashi realizes that Shouta's way more terrifying than he could ever imagine ft. Hitoshi snarking, Eri's adorableness, Hizashi trying and failing to court Shouta over totally not stolen food, and the occasional dead body or two.
Shouta knew taking on this job was a bad idea. It’s not like they had any other options; they needed to get out of the Deqr port and fast, and this job gave him free passage as long as he managed navigation. They didn’t even blink an eye at his two passengers, just told him to keep them busy and out of the way. It was no problem; Hitoshi and Eri know far too well for their age how to stay out of sight.
But now all the adults aboard the S.S. S. Watchers stare at the dead body on the floor of reactor with various degrees of horror.
How did they know it was dead, you ask? Well, the way Shouta can see its spine is a solid indication that it’s definitely dead despite the alien biology.
Damn. He liked Ishiyama too.

Aizawa refuses to let his Problem Child travel back in time alone, even to fix a future where All for One was the victor. They go back with a plan that's more of a list, spend a year technically missing, and become rather effective vigilantes that fix some rather serious problems. And then it's time to be found, which seems to primarily result in lots of support and many hugs. Neither Izuku or Aizawa complain very much.

Summary
A fierce protectiveness rose up in him, stronger than the inclination to give substance to the void in his chest. Oboro thought that maybe if he held a mirror up to his heart, he’d see a rage at the injustice done unto him, a reflection of the stoniness creeping into Izuku’s face before him.
“I’m not going to forget what made me, but I’m also never going to be that thing again. I’ll read my books. I’ll make my coffee.”
A muscle in Izuku’s jaw jumped, and when he spoke again, it was with an uncertain, soft sort of bubbling anger that couldn’t be directed at anything but the inevitability of an unchangeable situation. “So, you give up your dream.”
“You find a new dream, Izuku.”

In which Midoriya Inko refuses to be an anime mom by cyan96

Summary
Since Izuku turns four a series of Progressively Escalating incidents keep occurring in the Midoriya household. At first, no one makes the connection between the Midoriyas and the incidents, by dint of said incidents being so huge in scale, as befitting of An Appropriately Tragic backstory. Like that mass villain attack that occurred at the mall on Inko’s birthday. And that hostage situation at Tokyo-Disneyland. And that bank robbery after Tokyo Disneyland. The narrative works very hard but Midoriya Inko Does Not Die, because she has common sense and BNHA has things like actually competent law enforcement.
(or: in which the narrative is determined to make Midoriya Inko an anime mom, the headcanon list)

Summary
From a Hobbitkink prompt:
The battle was over, and Thorin Oakenshield awoke, naked and shivering, in the Halls of his Ancestors.
The novelty of being dead fades quickly, and watching over his companions soon fills him with grief and guilt. Oddly, a faint flicker of hope arises in the form of his youngest kinsman, a Dwarf of Durin's line with bright red hair.
(Follows the story of the War of the Ring).
(Bagginshield, Gimli/Legolas) In which recovery takes time, the dead members of the Company take to watching Gimli as though he’s a soap opera, the living struggle with being left behind, Legolas is confused, Khuzdul is abused, and Thorin is four feet and ten inches of guilt and anger.

Now that he finally has a moment to reflect on what Todoroki told him during the Sports Festival, Izuku realizes there's only one way to take down Endeavor.
“Midoriya? It’s half past four in the morning, what the hell do you want?”
“Oh, is it really? I hadn’t noticed. Anyway, if I told you I had a way to majorly fuck up your dad in the public eye, would you be okay with it?”
He paused in shock that Izuku had sworn. “...Yeah, sure, whatever. Go nuts.” Todoroki hung up.
