"Azula’s answering grin is bitter and horrible and broken as she leans in close to Aang’s face and says, ‘Listen Avatar, I can either join your group, or I’ll do something unspeakably horrible to your friends. Your choice.’”
OR: After Zhao’s failed siege, Zuko and Iroh are captured. A few weeks later, Ozai receives a ransom from the Northern Water Tribe signed in Zuko’s blood. Unfortunately for the Firelord, Zuko’s safety is all Azula cares about.
OR: Unfortunately for Sokka, that means the Gaang has not one, but two unstable, broken fire siblings to deal with. Y’know. Once they break Zuko out of prison. Because this is not a situation that calls for torture (probably. HE'S still on the fence about it, screw Aang and Katara and their stupid morals and how much he agrees with them)

The writing and pacing is honestly amazing. I love reading so tired form Sokka 's point of view, even if it his (very much important if overshadowed) issues aren't the main plot point, because his pessimistic attitude yet desire to keep going in spite of his unfaithfulness in everything is very much interesting. He doesn't view (or pretend to view) the atla world through rose-colored glasses at any point in time and I appreciate that about his character.
Azula and Zuko are so well done here...They are young kids, just KIDS who are not much older than Katara and Aang either, but they can still do so much damage to each other, themselves, and even others because that's all they were exposed to whenever they were in Ozai's custody. The dynamics are heartbreaking and ugly and I hate it, because nothing can ever really erase that bitterness. At least I do not know how you let go of such betrayal-like feleings that both Zuko and Azula gave each other..
Sokka is highly depressed and still trying to fix other people's problems... I wonder who else does that... Cough...Katara cough... It's so funny how much he separated himself and his sister when they both try so hard for others despite their suffering views and beliefs. They're just like that, y'know?
The Gaang still feels incomplete without Toph, so I'll bookmark this until she shows up. Maybe.

Chapter 5 and gosh is the writing gracious. As much as I abhor BBC Johnlock after TRF this is like a balm of soothing Vaseline. The characters are the BBC versions I love and the storyline and pacing are both immaculate.

Atsushi is a young orphan and artist living in a small hunting village. Taken in as a child after suffering from amnesia, he enjoys his peaceful life.
But one night, while hunting, his friend Junichirou gets lost. Taking refuge in an abandoned castle, the young man incurs the wrath of the castle's lord and is sentenced to death.
All he can do is return to the village one last time to say goodbye. But Atsushi refuses to accept his friend's fate. Choosing to sacrifice himself in his friend's place, he finds himself plunged into a world of magic and mystery by his strange host, who ultimately doesn't kill him.

Chapter 5. Oh, Fukuzawa is in school much denial. Also,ndo I find it amusing that Kunikida is the only one other than the big dog (cat?) to keep his last name as his first? He probably doesn't have a reflex to the first one too, poor guy. I loooove Haruno, she's underated but is so cute I'm her normalcy! Atsushi is a cinnamon roll, and if anyone hurts him Kyouka will use all the new moves she's learned from her honorary big sister (but pretend mother???)

Summary
Thanks to the combined efforts and sacrifices of both the ADA and Port Mafia, Dostoevsky has been defeated. The Decay Of Angels and the ominous threat they once posed is no more. However, their victory has not come cheap. The cost? One Dazai Osamu.
Is it possible for him to keep a grasp on the light he’s come to love so deeply while being subjected to an inescapable darkness? Can he still be a good mentor, a good friend, as he falls from the heights he’s been desperately clawing since that first day? Since that first promise?
He doesn’t know if there's a brighter side, nor could he guarantee that even if there was one he’d come out the same. Can’t promise that the blood, death and evil won’t sink their hooks back into him. But he can be sure of one thing, he’ll fight until his dying breath to make sure that no matter the time or place, that he’s still worthy of that smile.
AKA- Mori’s condition for aiding in the defeat of one of Yokohama’s biggest threats was that once the danger had been neutralized, Dazai’s return to the fold would be immediate. Nobody has a good time.
