It was kind of like a defense mechanism, people rejected him, he rejected them back, and when there was the possibility that someone would try to understand him, he rejected them before they could reject him.-

“Huh?” Mike stared gormlessly at Will whose head was swinging widely from point to point around the room.
“We’re not in your basement!” Will said, definitely sounding panicked at this point.
It took a moment for Will’s words to compute, his brain struggling to catch up as he regained his remaining mental facilities. Which would make more sense had he landed on his head, not his back.
Not being in his basement would explain the soft landing, white ceiling, and the spontaneous music at least. It saved him a broken back that’s for sure.
He slowly peeked around the room taking in the large double bed, sturdy set of drawers, and the overflowing bookcase tucked in the corner.
No way!
