Summary
Grace knew Simon was raised in a cult like space station at the end of the world. But he could never have imagined that it would lead to this.
Simon shirtless, kneeling in the middle of their living room, fresh welts on his back, listing his apparent crimes to a preserved sapling of the Last Tree.
So when, sometime later, Simon asks him for help, how could he possibly say no?

Summary
Polites survives the encounter with the Cyclops. He watches men die because of Poseidon’s cruelty. He sees his friends turned into pigs by a seemingly wicked witch. And he crosses the Underworld itself while hearing the cries of fallen companions, twisted by the agony of mortality.
But he also watches Odysseus—the person he loves most—become someone cruel, remorseless, capable of killing in order to reach home. Because he never believed his Odysseus would be capable of ordering six men to be sacrificed as though they were nothing.

Summary
Polites stumbled through the gnarled brush, bare legs catching on thorns, cloak shredded and damp with blood. His left hand, trembling and slick, pressed hard to the side of his throat. The wound burned, hot and raw, pulsing with every heartbeat. Blood still trickled, a slow river staining the collar of his tunic and the front of his armor, which was half-buckled and askew.
Only one thought was pushing him forward: Ody.
Now, he was bleeding his way home.
He’d been on patrol. The Trojan patrol was supposed to be leagues away. The scouts had sworn it.
But a blade had whispered otherwise.
Or, while on patrol, Polites is attacked and left for dead. He overhears the Trojans' plan to assassinate Odysseus and the other Greek leaders. Now, Polites is in a race against time to save his friend's life.

Summary
Odysseus stands next to his friend. His tent had strategically, by him of course, been destroyed. Of course Polites didn't know. Which left his dear, lovely Polites without a place to sleep, and what better idea then for him to sleep with Odysseus in his large, warm, safe tent. Which would be far, very far from that stupid Laenor.
There Odysseus could hold him in his warm, safe arms. There Odysseus could make sure his dreams were kind and benevolent. They could sleep as husbands.

Summary
Polites tried his hardest not to think about all the men and women and even children that had met their end by his own hand, all the pools of blood he had spilled. The people who had been in much the same position of survival as him, forced to witness and participate in the horrors of a war none of them had asked for. He rarely slept through each night, nightmares lurking in the darkness if the sheer guilt alone didn't daunt his exhaustion enough to keep his eyes wide open.
Despite all his own hardships born of the years engaging in activities that went against every fiber of his belief system, he still made time to check in on the other men. He especially made sure to keep an eye on his best friend. Odysseus. His king, his captain, his friend, his lover.
