The only interesting thing Elphaba finds amongst the rest of the conspiracy board is a photo of a sheet-covered cadaver with nothing but their bare feet visible. Rather than any information identifying the body, Glinda has written a note over the photo that reads in a frenetic scribble NO SHOES WHY?????? and Elphaba thinks yes, Glinda Upland of the Upper Uplands does seem like the type to fashion-shame a corpse.

Then she found where the clay men had hidden their newfound fire, and took from their hearth the smallest burning scrap, which she used to light a wick. As the wax melted down it, its layers dripped and hardened upon themselves, and when it lengthened into a shape she could carry in her arms, she the Night bent her head and kissed life into it. This became the infant she called Charon, half-melted and smoking Promethean fire with every breath.
At the end of this recounting, she tilted her head and asked politely, Is this not how you have children?

Rumi touched her fingers to her ribs. She could feel the heat radiating from her skin, even through her clothes. A distant, miserable part of her said, this is going to hurt.
She pushed her fingers down.
The rib shifted.
The thing about telling one very big lie is that it requires a foundation of hundreds of smaller lies to hold it up, lies such as "I'm fine," and "nothing's broken," and "it doesn't hurt."
Rumi finds this out the hard way.

Summary
Dreen-Gift: a term for supposed psychics that pop out throughout history, who know things, whether past, present, or future, that they have no way of knowing.
They are so called because they are "delivered" by Dreen to where they are needed, and if they go a step too far and try to give more information than the Dreen would like, one shows up to scare them back into silence.
The reality is that Dreen-gifts are people from other dimensions, including ours, who have read parts of the story before.
There's a world where the primary story of Europa is that of Andronicus and Euphrosynia, with barely a footnote for Agatha's existence, but a delightfully torrid romance inside.
There's a world where Ht'Rok-din was the main villain in a video game that, as it turned out, one could not successfully win by defeating him, only by keeping him from going past the immediate countryside surrounding Mechanicsburg.
There's a world where the first jagers were the enemy supersoldiers in a highly-acclaimed Image comic.
And so on.
Now, it's time for a Dreen-Gift in the timeline we know, the story we're familiar with, and the cast that we love.

Summary
Rumi had learned a long time ago that her body was… more resilient than the average human. She wasn't invincible. Her body still bent and broke and popped and bled in an irritatingly human way sometimes. However she tended to heal at a supernatural rate. A broken arm healed in a matter of minutes. A gash closed over in a handful of seconds. The honmoon helped to speed up the healing of its hunters, but not to this level. Not to this extreme.
Still, the first time Rumi gets hit by a bus she is immensely grateful that 1) it is her and not one of her girls that was hit, 2) her demon healing has already started to repair her snapped spine as she careens through the air and 3) that Zoey and Mira are still in the alley way and won't have to watch this happen.

She swore she was done with it all: the Honmoon, being a hunter, everything.
And if said Honmoon could get that message and stop throwing baby hunters at her, she would greatly appreciate it!Or

Rumi shifted her hands in a stretch–Zoey saw Mira's scowl harden, grip tightening on her gokdo–as the woman straightened her arms over her head. The hem of her crop-top lifted slightly, a sliver of pale flesh flashing in Zoey's periphery, teasing just above the waistline of her pants.
Zoey definitely didn't stare.
Too much, anyways.
"I know so," Rumi answered after a moment, shaking her arms out. "Spiro wanted you dead."
And then she shot Zoey a smirk, and that look was all tongue and teeth and promise.
"But I've got more use for you alive."
