Good thing you found a random house to sidle up to and ask to use their phone. Less of a good thing that the skeleton monster that lives in it is only placated by your sloppy jokes.

As time goes on she comes to learn there is more that connects her to Thedas and the Fade than the glowing mark on her hand.
And after meeting Cole, and growing close to the other members of the Inquisition, there might be more reason to stay in this land of magic and dragons than she'd originally believed.

Summary
I've lived more lives than I can count, and died just as many times.
I've seen it all. Cults, famines, the decline of civilizations, war. I was even hung once in Salem after being accused of witchcraft. Nothing surprises me at this point.
And then one day, I wake up in my body in a prison cell in Georgia, of all places, in a world I know by heart, with people I've watched across lives on a TV screen. Suddenly, I don't know anything anymore.
I don't expect to become friends with the rough redneck who should definitely be dead, but I do. I really don't expect to find a whole child who wasn't even part of the show and somehow become fully responsible for keeping him alive. But the biggest shock of all? The way my chest tightens every time Daryl Dixon so much as glances at me.
So now I'm here. Dragging my favorite characters across the southeastern portion of the country, trying to avoid every major catastrophe and plot point while clinging to what little sanity I have left. But every action has a consequence, and I don't know what to plan for anymore.
The show was brutal, but the reality is so, so much worse. -

"Have you never seen magic before?" A long-suffering voice drawls. Ah, good - he still enunciates with knives, still sounds as if he finds them repulsive. They were worried he wouldn't.
"I've never seen him play personally, but I hear he's a great point guard." Leon pulls the tray towards themself. They can physically hear Snape's brows knit.
Even though it seems to pain him, his mouth curls open. "What.. on Earth are you talking about?"
"Magic Johnson. Basketball." They pause their soup-ing to look Snape's way. Mouth caught between a grimace and a sneer, brows heavy, eyes boiling black. He doesn't even need to insult them to make them feel like an idiot - not with a look like that. Luckily, Leon has a lack of self-respect on their side. They dig into their soup.

The carpenter swore and got back to his feet to begin the walk back home. He remembered the conversation between Yorn and Martha, the line about Astra disliking it when Martha invited him on a ‘date.’ Maybe the chemist wasn’t interested in being in a relationship. That would certainly make things easier. He couldn’t date someone who didn’t want to date, so that train left the station before anyone could board, which was for the best.
Because you don’t have to share yourself deeply with someone who doesn’t want to be in a relationship with you.

Full disclosure, this started as a little writing exercise to see if I could tell a good story without relying on visually describing everything. This is my first published fic and it's blown up into being waaaaaay longer and intense than I thought, so come along for the ride!
