"I came looking for you," Kevin answered, sounding far calmer than he felt.He didn't want to think about what had gotten Andrew here, whose hands had crushed those fingerprint bruises into his skin. In the end it didn't matter; they were Kevin's all the same. They weren't partners, but Riko had made it clear that Andrew was Kevin's fault. Anything they did affected each other. Andrew's injuries were for both defending Jean, and, in Riko's words, Kevin's failure to tame him. Guilt was a parasite that worked itself up into Kevin's insides and wound itself around his heart, just like Andrew had.
Kevin visits Andrew in the infirmary.

Seth’s fist was faster than his brain. It didn’t occur to him that Kevin was wearing a helmet until he heard the crack of his knuckles hitting plastic. Kevin shook his head like a dog, spit on the court floor, and caught Seth’s eye. Seth felt the intensity of that stare like an electric shock. The game didn’t matter, the roaring crowd didn’t matter, all that mattered was keeping Kevin’s predatory attention on him.
